wow that's actually a rather complicated situation to be in. i had a teacher once who was a twin, and talked before about how hard it is to constantly be compared to each other. it looks like it's nothing that tsubaki did herself. just she was always the praised and favored one because she's smarter, which alone would cause feeling of jealousy, which can turn to hate. and because of the jealousy she started to treat her bad. and tsubaki on her part, just loves her sister and wants to get along, so getting treated bad by her sister destroys her self confidence. which starts her talking bad about herself, which in turn starts making hiiragi feel even shittier about herself because if someone as great as tsubaki is worthless, then what does that make her who is even worse? oof.

This is an extremely hard situation to get out of unless the person who felt victimized first wants the cycle to stop enough to actually do something about it. I'm hoping Utsugi can help just by being herself and providing support.

Hiiragi such a piece of shit, but seeing as her tantrum in this chapter seemed serious its almost like we're set up for a sad backstory and a redemption arc like Shizuka from virgin's empire

I know from lived experience that some people mask their social anxiety with the appearance of disinterest

my only problem with this manga is that without fail every single chapter has ended in a joke. and jokes are obviously fine, but are we ever going to meaningfully release any of the tensions between the characters? is the status quo going to remain the same the entire time?

exactly this, the series is wonderful as a comedy but then there's bits of drama that isn't handled all that well

I don't even know what hiiragi's character is supposed to be besides angst monster lol

Yes, there's development in this series and it's very sweet.

Ahhh ok I totally get Hiiragi now. Its must be infuriating for her hearing Tsubaki talk bad about herself when she doesn't have it that bad. At least she has friends like Kaname and Yatsude and she does well in school. I found it sweet that in times of distress she was thinking of Utsugi.

I found this chapter really entertaining but I hope 5yat the twins can resolve their differences and just be happy.

Sure, but so far we've seen Hiiragi has no problems interacting with people when she wants to - that's just really rare.

The reasons for her aloofness rapidly turned out to be pretty grim tho... :/
