I can't believe George will eat them in a terrible training accident.

If there’s any character in this series I trust to not do something rash and counterproductive, it’s George.

George has known what’s been going on the whole time.

Those amberjack, on the other hand. . .

George represents society, and that's the moral of the story.

On a kind of off topic note, I blocked a couple of users in MD over this chapter, their overreaction was awful, like they really really hated this... they complained the whole arc and complained even more now that it's over -.- ) but they'll be back next time anyway so I had to take measures.

I hesitate to ask, but if you think it’s wise to answer, what was the problem? (I can see someone thinking it took too long, but the resolution seems close to perfect to me.)

I understand their frustration but I feel it was mostly due to misplaced expectations, all the angst that happened was not for the sake of having angst and was completely necessary for the development of the story and characters in a way that parallels The Salamander and deals with loneliness and stubbornness like that.

Let them be honestly. I can understand some frustration as the manga is very slow in his pacing and the one chapter per month doesn't help either. Also all the sea symbolism can be seen as a bit overused even if it's the one of the theme of the manga.

Yeah I found the ending pretty beautiful, but the comments were stuff like "I hate Koyuki or I hate Konatsu! and this whole arc was awful and they even said they hate the author too! I can feel they weren't happy at all to read this chapter, they just were "about time!!" that kind of desperate people really piss me off, and I'm in a good mood now, I don't need that vibe!

Of course, saying that this took too long to concluded is valid criticism (it feels longer because of the schedule) but there's never need to hate o.O and those comments are just a waste of time if they'll come back next chapter anyway.

is it just me or does senpai give off autism vibes? She takes things literally, is bad at reading people, and she's so enthusiastic about the aquarium she ran it by herself for a while

Which would also explain why it's been hard for her to get anyone interested in the club

Well she's very special that's for sure, but she's only lacking in the social aspect and that could've been fabricated by certain circumstances and the way people expected her to behave, people kind of glorified her and by doing so she was isolated, never had the chance to learn how.

I'm not saying that the possibility is off the table, just saying that most of those problems could've been fixed if she wasn't given a different treatment from the start

I'm not well-versed in what kinds of behavior can be construed as autism, but she definitely fails to pick up on cues and can tend to get single-mindedly fixated on some things. I've always simply ascribed it to her upbringing though, she was the honor student with no friends and a lot of pressure so it's no wonder she's bad with others. In this chapter she managed to recognize her selfishness towards Konatsu as born from her lack of empathy, whereas Konatsu recognized her own selfishness as being more malicious and caused by not wanting to let Koyuki stop having to depend on her. So in that regard I can see Koyuki's issues as being more deep-rooted and less voluntary than Konatsu's.

Where are the "Aaaaaangst" "Depressing as fuck" and "What the fuck am I reading?" tags?

I liked this arc. A bit too dramatic and long, but liked it.
I don't really care if they start dating anymore after two years (I would love it, don't get me wrong) but I wonder what the author is going to do.
Another drama arc (Konatsu leaving the school for example) or a dramaless arc with the aquarium as the main theme again?

The onsen arc or beach- ... ah wait, they're always at the beach, so yeah hot Springs arc! or, imagine a reference to Bloom into you and they have a date in a big aquarium...

I've always felt like an aquarium date should be a no-brainer for this series. Maybe they can have one once they're both in Tokyo.

Heck, for Koyuki at least it wouldn't be out of place to work at an aquarium in Tokyo during/after university.

I last typed here stating that I wasn't fond of all the drama but with things coming to a close, for now anyway, and I could honestly see and feel that the author really works hard for this chapter, so I decided to follow this series again after I did a re-read. I already forgot about some shit that happened. Props to all the overreaction over at Mangadex though, they sound very -censored-

In any case everyone can say, I have never seen or experienced such a deep friendship ... one feels lonely as soon as the other moves away just a little, they think day and night to each other, are anxious about each other, ect.
We're on the borderline between love and friendship at this level. If both of them had known love before, their feelings would be much clearer today, but they are totally new at this level.

Imagery of frog riding salamander

Alright I'm calling it. The next chapter is going to feature insane amount of sex for all of the angst caused by the previous chapters.

Mangadex's comments are packed full of total idiots so I wouldn't really put any stock in what most of them say. There's one user who goes around looking for any manga with a light-haired character just so they can complain about them; there's also some really annoying people who will go read series that are about as far away from porn as you can get and then drop really blatant sexual comments whenever a girl appears. It's why I don't bother reading comments over there most of the time.

I can't speak to whether or not she's actually autistic at all but autism is actually significantly more difficult to diagnose in girls than in boys. Girls tend to be notably more social, even when they're introverted and shy, than guys are so autistic girls tend to adapt better to social situations.

Well since there won't be a chapter until march and it seems this arc has concluded, it's probably a good time to re-read the whole arc without waiting for between chapters.
When did it start? Vol. 4? this arc really took half of the manga so far huh?
Ah whatever gonna read from the very beginning.
