Okay, that actually makes a lot of sense. Still maybe it'd have been good if we saw Kurokawa with her friends at least a little bit before they dumped her? It seems like most of the time she's just been by herself, so even if we're told that she's very insecure about lacking a clique (which she does think about quite a bit), it still lacks some impact, since she appears to be fine by herself. But maybe that's also the point, she doesn't realize she's fine by herself....

Well, it IS true that there isn't that much time put into build up and introductions of characters other than the main two, but this series feels pretty fast paced and I don't expect it to go on very long (I haven't looked into it's serialization, so please correct me if I'm wrong). I guess it's more about having a twist on the usual tropes (otaku x gyaru, makeover chapter), so I feel like the aim is to hook the reader via big turns every one or two chapters and not through detailed character development like for example Bloom Into You.

That is why I think Kurokawa just made her first actual friend, or at the very least, the first true friend in a very long time. And to think this is probably heading towards romance... It's so cheesy but I live for this shit.

RIP the eyebrows, but I love Fujishiro's reverse-makeover. Really interesting developments, and what seemed kind of trashy at first is going in some strong directions.
