A couple of Japanese questions. Don't think I've ever seen the name Yoh used before - I assume it's a regular Japanese name - how is it written? how would you write it with hiragana?

And Michan uses a few fairly rare suffixes for her friend - shi and chi - you don't see them much - do they have any particular usage or meaning or are they just cute sounding additions?

"oh" is basically another way of spelling "ou" (think "Yu-Gi-Oh"). Yoh is pretty much like You from Love Live Sunshine.

Beat me to it. As an aside though, "mainland" doesn't mean "not on the coast", it just means "on the largest contiguous piece of land" which coastal cities can still be.

Edit: I just saw that there's a chapter 0, and thus my comment is wrong since the inn is actually off the mainland. Kyoto is still not on the coast, though, so my reasoning was at least kinda/sorta right.

Also, Kasumi's Surname is Kurosawa and the new woman's is Tsukuda. I think that's a surname anyway.

Admittedly it's not entirely clear with Mochi's art style, but I think the customer who was behind Kanata in the line at the video rental store looks more like Asane-nee. That would also support the theory of the customer hitting on the employee being Haru, since it would mean the sisters went to the store together.

Edit: Also, Akane (the bully with a crush) calls Kanata "Kanata", while customer-behind-Kanata calls her "Kana". Though now that I think about it more, customer-behind-Kanata might be Otoya-nee instead, since older Otoya (see https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/met_my_sister_on_a_dating_site_their_sisters_yuri_was_aired_on_national_tv#3 ) has the ponytail. Either way, it's unlikely to be the bully (the hairstyles don't match).

-chi is a rather common way in japan to make a cute nickname for girls. If her actual name is Tsukuko, for example, it becomes Tsukuchi. Those kind of cutesy nicknames usually imply some degree of intimacy (like close or childhood friends) or that the user is overly familiar (if they just met recently).
