I feel like this ended really abruptly. What about Youko's fiancee? He was spoken about in the last chapter as if to bring about a love triangle and then the series ended. The end. The mangaka didn't explain anything about this fiancee and didn't explicitly state how Youko felt about him. All we know is that Youko rushed from dinner with her fiancee to check up on Shuu and suddenly, on a whim, kiss Shuu with a bleeding mouth to make her drink the blood she needed. Youko then doesn't explain that kiss with "because I love you," but with "I didn't think about it because you were frantic." And with that, we have no confirmation about her feelings at all, with Shuu's big confession scene being pushed under the rug like that and all.

This raises some questions. Was Shuu's love onesided? Was Youko really in love with Shuu but wanted to appease her family? It's made a point that Youko is always happy-go-lucky, and then all of a sudden it is revealed that she is from a high pristine family and "oh, by the way, Youko doesn't really have much of a choice in life. That's why she was encouraging Shuu to make her own choices."

Really, it feels like that "fiancee" part was just a valid reason to force a "Shuu wants to be male" ending--which was what it originally was anyway.

tl;dr There were too many problems for the mangaka to solve and bind together, so they decided "Let's end it but not solve anything at all!"

Yeah it's like the ending to a harem series where there's no resolution and a kind of 'the decision can wait' attitude. But I guess at least they finished it rather than having even more questions unanswered...

Also, when Youko sees Shuu biting the nurse/doctor?/brother and later Misora, too, wouldn't sexual deviant come before vampire as a better way of explaining it away? Rather than, "hmm, lets trust this new student who looks like she'd sell her soul for friends!"

Great Scott, this was so disappointing. I mean, I know I really couldn't expect much what with such a sudden twist at the end of the second-to-last chapter, but they really didn't answer anything.

The setting, as ridiculous as it was, was at least intriguing. The shipping was kinda cute (and with so many more characters really could go anywhere). A plot twist where we find out Youko has a fiancé, that really doesn't lead anywhere...

Sorry Unohana-sensei, not a fan.

The ending reminds me of Divine Love Alone: sudden end w/o explanations.

Even porn like Milky Succubus Lilly has a better plot than this.

I personally feel as though Shuu would have ended choosing to be a girl. While yes she would have thought about picking male for a while the fact arises that she has lived her entire life as a girl, she wouldn't know anything about the standard way a man lives. Not to mention the fact that she met Youko as a girl, for her two girls being in a relationship may seem more natural, you can see that she was very worried about becoming a man, so if someone told her that two girls could be in a relationship then I think she would decide to stay female.

In my own head I decided that after these events Shuu, Youko, Misori and the girl that confessed to Youko ended up with a lovable foursome relationship, while Aika and her friend got together as well.

Honestly this would be one of my all-time favorite stories, but sadly it wasn't ever truly completed.

It's not that bad isn't it? Basically it gonna be Shuu x Shouko regardless of which gender Shuu pick.

Knowing Shuu taste, she will keep drinking Shouko blood however = yuri almost ensured

Here's what I imagine following the final chapter...

Shuu confesses to Youko and tells her she'll become a male to be with her. And then Youko says... "But I'm a lesbian; If you want to win me, you'd better become a female! That's why I've been pushing my blood on you after all."

It's been a few years since I read this I forgot how abruptly it ended. D'oh! If only it had gotten to continue on, there was so much good and cute stuff going.
