Well, to begin with... Anna with her bangs pulled back: not many characters could pull that look off, but it looked really cute on her, too bad it was just for the sake of applying the product.

Now, as for the girl-on-girl kiss:.. I honestly wasn't sure if Anna was just imagining it. The end-credits joke only lend more credence to the idea it was in someone's head.

And Ema... I think the girl is suffering from some form of depression. Her sudden mood changes- from carefree and happy to self-loathing- might indicate bipolarity. I get the vibe that she's pretty unhappy deep down.

Awww I feel for Ema-san...I've never heard of under skirts calming people down though... I think I should try that to relax!!

I like Ema and Ana together ,I decided I ship them as a rocket.

I am very certain you won't be the only one wondering this, so I'll lay it out here. A black background behind the panels always means that something is different, usually (but not always) either a flashback or an imaginary scene. Also, what Ema is saying does not match up with the action, and she would have a very hard time saying it at all with her mouth occupied like that. Add that up and this being Anna's imagination is the only possibility.

Besides that, Miku's reactions after Anna snaps out of it also don't line up with that action.

Regarding the black background, I know that it usually means there's something in the narrative, and that was precisely what made me wonder if it was really happening or not. If I had read the credits at the time I'd had my confirmation. xD

I am still trying to figure out what is up with the older cousin . Is she in a relationship with this woman named Yoshino , or is she in love with her own cousin . Is the younger cousin falling in love with her older cousin ? Way too many opening's with this story , hopefully the holes will get filled in as the story progresses .

I think is pretty clear that Ema had a relationship with Yoshino and is using her cousin as sort of replacement. Her cousin on the other hand doesn't know what the hell is happening with her other that she's starting to see girls on a very different light.

I don't think Anna is "starting to see girls in different light." There is no indication of her reaction toward naked bodies of same genders in her past. So all we know is that she could have already been attract to the female population in the first place. But because of Ema recent appearance into her life, not to mention Anna being rather 'charmed' by her 1/6 cousin's beauty, she has became more conscious about the bodies of her female peers, as we see in the locker room of Chapter 2. In short, Anna is not becoming a lesbian, she is becoming aware of her sexuality.

Depression: maybe, and a mild one at that. There's not enough information to say that tho.

Btw, i know it's pretty obvious, but other than the age gap between Anna and Ema, has anyone also pointed out the age gap between Ema and this Yoshino-san?

In fact i have a feeling that it was just one-side loved based on the representation of this Yoshino-san. I means a) Ema feel comfortable when she sniffing Anna's panty as replacement (sort of), indicating her being a domination relationship (obviously the other party is her boss) and b) her constant mood-swing and apparent sexual frustration.

The cliche reveal would be this Yoshino-san lure Ema in for sex a few years back. But then get bored of her, and just keep the relationship hanging. Or they have a couple of night stands, and it could be just in Ema head all along

If that's the case Ema x Anna will be the repeat of just that. Except, maybe the relationship will be a bit two ways this time

Atch I don't think the cousin is just a replacement, she's like..this innocent pure different person,and I think Ema just has a bit of emotional instability ,nothing like bipolarity or depression, come on,that's very different, she's just being moody cos like she said she's worthless and don't know what to do with herself and she might feel odd feeling attracted to her ( much younger?) cousin

I love the part where Anna felt worlds away from them, when they were cryptically going on about, "Wanting to become beautiful when you are in love.. and how you'd stretch yourself..etc.." Because it winds up being all for Anna. Yes, they both love her.

What a circus. Oh well, at least I can now wait for the rest with tempered expectations. At least it has the ultimate outcome I wanted, though ironically the final romantic resolution lacks the kissing so liberally and gratuitously employed everywhere else in the manga. :P
