I'm so confused lol... I thought this was supposed to be a lighthearted story?? Maybe I need to re-read some chapters

Wouldn't a slavery tag make more sense? That's what's on display; the rest is rather dubious, and it should make sufficiently clear that something disgusting is going on ... most likely. imo.

... but also, whatever. ^^

I believe any impression of lightheartedness went out of the window for me when we learned that Hane almost killed Junna and apparently disfigured herself bringing her back from the brink. Though even I did not expect the sexual exploitation swerve we currently appear to be on.

Looking at it again, Junna walking through the rain of petals from different flowers right after she annihilated those controlled magical girls gives me chills...

So...this means that when Hane defeated and desperately healed Junna, the lord allowed it to happen and let them go afterwards? Huh...

Also we established the Floral Knights serve the goddess who also gets on their case. Their pipsqueak mascot is nicknamed Hanitarou by Sou.

Also we get Junna's true goal. To essentially be Hane's final boss. She plans to destroy her former organization and accumulate enough power to become the last foe that Hane must defeat in the end.

It seems like Junna wanted to test Hane's resolve during the fireworks confession chapter based on her lines that Floral Knights should grow through strife, although, I do think some people who theorized that Junna might have some self-esteem issues in regards to Hane's love for her is on the mark. Part of me believes that Junna may not even register Hane's love for her as a result thinking that Hane loves the older magical girl that resembles her even if she was willing to stand in for her. We'll have to wait to see how that resolves when we catch up to the present.

Also thank you RudyTudySubs for the timeline of events~

Okay. So the mysterious unkown magical senpai is the Dark Lord, right?

Like, we're all in agreement, right?

Also, the only thing I'm confused about is why Junna keeps spouting the "I'll be the only one to defeat you," trope, when it's now more clear she's pulling a Lelouch/Homura "I'll be the evil everyone unites against."

My only guess is that the story evolved somewhere along the line and that was intially the direction it was going in and then the author just liked this new direction more.

I could also see it as Junna just being unreliable and she herself was confused as to what she wanted until this very moment.

Especially since there is already a super powerful Dark Lord to unite against ... ? What's the logic there? Junna wants to get strong enough to defeat the Dark Lord, that somehow is supposed to corrupt her, I guess, so then she wants Hane to defeat her afterwards ... but if Hane is powerful enough to defeat a Junna that is strong enough to defeat the Dark Lord, why not have Hane defeat the Dark Lord in the first place?

It's edgy nonsense, I feel.

I read it as Junna being unwilling to consciously admit she loves Hane. So rather than letting Hane risk her life fighting the Dark Lord, Junna will amass power, destroy the entire dark side + the Lord herself, and then basically die via sacrifice to Hane as a new final boss, so that Hane can finally be free of everything she's putting herself through in the name of being a Magical Girl.

I suspect Junna wouldn't actually fight Hane after destroying the DL, because you're correct; Junna being able to do that means she'd arguably be too powerful to defeat. But it does make sense if she never intends to actually make Hane truly fight her, and instead says "I will lay down my life for you so that you may finally be free".
And that would also double as a 'tragic love story' theme.

No? Definitely not some of the users here. This is just the beginning of what little we learned about the Dark Lord.

Probably because I don't think she plans on simply suiciding to Hane as the latter trope implies. It seems clear that she wants to build Hane up to be stronger while also doing the dirty work for her, in order to become the final boss for them to have their rematch at the grand stage. They would genuinely fight to the death and in either case, Hane would reach salvation at the end. Either Junna dies and the all the evil scattered with her death or Hane dies but is not made as a husk for an evil organization as with the other defeated magical girls, allowing her to properly rest in peace.

Although I will admit that you do have a point that it does imply Junna is more willing to let Hane kill her in the end.

"it was originally gonna be a mouth to mouth kiss but It kind of ruined the mood and like... its not a Disney princess story ya know?"

That "authors barely disguised NTR fetish" interjection didn't seem to stop em from ruining the mood but a mere smooch of two girls!? uh-uh no way! This is a kids story for gods sake! ignore those tentacles and concubines!

but regardless...we shall see where things go from here i guess. Honestly this feels like a point where the author would announce serialization or something but I guess not... new arc new possibilities tho I guess.

i'm not positive on it but I think Junna's thinking goes a bit like this:

-The Magical Girls are bound by their role to eradicate Evil
-Evil lord is too strong and would kill the MGs
-So Junna "absorbs" the evil organization, both to raise her own power and to use the defeated mooks to train the MGs in a controlled way where they don't run risk of becoming sex slaves or being killed
-Once Junna defeats the Lord, the MGs will be safe (even if she happened to defeat them), she'll take their place as the Final Boss so the MGs can then defeat her and presumably be done with their duty
-Junna sacrifices herself to ensure the eradication of all Evil, Happy End for the MGs

I could also see it as Junna just being unreliable and she herself was confused as to what she wanted until this very moment.

I'm guessing she's shifting her overall goal as she works through her own feelings for Hane.

I'd have to re-read/refer again to the very-helpful-timeline to be sure of when specific phrases were said, but Junna's endgame seems to be saving Hane, in my eyes. She loves Hane, but perhaps feels she can't be with Hane ("I'm not worthy", maybe—a well-worn trope, but reliable as a narrative device). It could be she initially thought "I'll be the one to defeat Hane", because she felt some sort of way about her rival, but wasn't capable/willing to face the truth of those feelings. The moment she herself realized it was love, she shifted to the "I will be the one Hane defeats".
So Junna will destroy her old organization & usurp the Dark Lord, face Hane as the new "final boss", but then simply lay her life down and die so that Hane will finally win and have no more evil to fight. Which, would mean Hane would have no more reason to put herself in danger, and can finally live a life of peace and happiness. Junna wants that for her, and this is her answer for how to reach that point.
And from there I imagine one angle of the story will be Hane and Junna growing closer and closer (even through the failed/interrupted confession during the fireworks), as Junna realizes she REALLY loves Hane and has to grapple with her original plan as it becomes clear Hane would be just as hurt, even if she were ultimately freed in the end.

Oh. Oooh. Did Junna save those girls, heal them and erase their memories from during their enslavement ? That is a surprise and a relief.

For goddess' sake, I didn't like those chapters but that's a mean-spirited interpretation of that comment. Having their first kiss given while one is unconscious isn't romantic at all.

That's also my interpretation. She thinks she can defeat the Dark Lord, but that she must herself be defeated afterwards to eradicate evil. Presumably she would throw that fight, too.

Which is a funny plan, considering how Hane already nearly killed her once and that didn't stick, but Junna thinks the next time will be different.

My take on this: It's apparently easier for Junna to imagine defeating an all-powerful faceless evil demon king than to confess her feelings to Hane and to just be happy together. The lengths some people will go to avoid dealing with their feelings, honestly...

Well—there is the fact that Hane will never be free of this Magical Girl stuff until all Evil is eradicated. And Junna doesn't want Hane put in danger, so she'll become the Last Evil herself, let Hane beat her, release Hane from her MG bound duties, and thus Hane can live happily ever after.

Junna also may have some self-hatred stuff going on because of her history with Evil Stuff, and thinks herself unfit to be with Hane. But even beyond that, Hane's still hung up on that mysterious since-vanished MG senpai that Junna resembles—Junna maybe feels like she's just a substitute in Hane's eyes, and thus not actually someone Hane would be truly happy with.

Hmmn, yeah nawww... your right. Lookin back at the chapter too Junna does conjure a gripping fist before redirecting her kiss... which is nicely angsty too so... I'll say touche there.

That said those chapters did cast a permanent side-eye on this author for me so maybe I jumped a bit too quick on hate trigger there :P

I feel like some people are overlooking what is being clearly signposted as the outcome here. So just to quick recap the important bits of the last two chapters

Junna is thought to be powerless by the magical girls
Last chapter it was revealed that at some point Junna had regained powers, but with a form different from when she was a General
It was also revealed that Junna has developed a fixation on Hane and the idea that she has to kill Hane so no one else can intrude on Hane last's moments
This chapter someone manages to beat the magical girls and starts describing a fate for Hane that Junna finds utterly unacceptable
Junna's special charm starts glowing with magical power

Take all that together and it seems pretty clear that this is the moment that Junna develops her new form and uses it to curbstomp this other general guy. But it is also where she develops the idea that she has to kill Hane herself. Cause as much as Junna loves Hane and want to be with her, even as a replacement for that 'other' girl, she'd rather abandon that dream and ensure Hane is given a proper end than risk the chance of Hane being subjected to a wretched fate

Congratulations dragonx99 for getting it exactly right!

Also thank you RudyTudySubs for the timeline of events up to now. Now its way clearer, I was so confused by how/when the diamond and spade brooches came along since the diamond one was seen in some flashbacks with big Hane, and now I can see why, its really really well made and i can go back and follow the scenes chronologically, thank you!
