Yeah it's weird...I was expecting something different I guess? Maybe her figuring out her relationship better, maybe her jumping out of her current relationship and accidentally falling for a girl in her class that gave her a love letter...I don't know. Whatever direction we're currently sailing in feels all over the place...

Come on, It's only chapter 3, people. The manga it's obviously about teenage drama situations, let the author give us that. A lot of those scenarios can still happen with what we have so far.

I saw the tags, but somehow my brain was expecting the pov protagonist to be the one who would be crossdressing/ gender bending (with her not understanding gender and her own sexuality) so at the end I was having the same reaction as you did.

I really want to see Asumi-chan return to the brothel to play prostitute lottery again in hopes of finding Mai, then Nanao taking a little vacation to Tokyo to get her mind off Asumi a bit so she won't feel jealous, and theeeen having her request Mai at the sister branch on pure coincidence, but since she doesn't know Mai's name nor apperance, she doesn't realize that she's the one Asumi is looking for.

For real, I wonder what will happen with Mai in Tokyo, I hope we get to see her at least serving a random girl while thinking about Asumi and this trip isn't just to keep her away from the plot.

To be fair with Mai, Asumi has also been fantasizing about her in middle-school form, since she can only remember her that way. So they're both lolicons for now xD

Also the age difference between the two is less than I thought, i was thinking 2-3 years but Mai is 22 and Asumi has recently turn 21(she can drink now), only they're only one year apart (1.5 maybe? )
