Sensei went to college A before
Her old student wanted to go to the same college, though her artworks are still in a beginner mode
Sensei decided to give her hope-- she told her yes, she can if she kept pushing herself really hard
And then the student started her practice during summer, having sensei to accompany her and helped her with her practice
The student took the exam and
She didn't make it, unfortunately
So the teacher's heart sunk because she knew the student had practice so hard trying to get into the college but her admission test failed
All the efforts suddenly went for nothing, that sort of feeling
That is why she felt her heart so sunk
The feeling of helplessness..
Unable to help a student to achieve her dream to enroll the college she wanted made her feel like
"It felt like helping or overly optimism may hurt the person more than stopping her in the beginning"
As a teacher, nothing gets more satisfactory if the students they helped actually made it and do well in their lives, and that includes getting themselves a good college
