Dynasty needs to quality control, god damn.

okk ik this is probably bait but like.. 90% of manga on this site since the beginning is trash and thats why we're here? we love trash????

Well that's an extremely generalized and insulting statement to the vast majority of creatives whose work is uploaded here.

Well yes, it's generalized, but it's also aping Sturgeon's Law and not to be taken too seriously.
Also "trash" does not have to mean "bad" when discussing media. "Trash" can be supremely entertaining and enriching, while at the same time you know it's not high brow in any way.

I see, well I don't personally find calling everything that's not Shakespeare trash a good use of the word personally, but maybe I'm in the minority here and people love to use the word in a generalized way even if it's insulting to the overwhelming majority of creatives to reduce their works down to the equivalent of rotting garbage in a landfill.

I think pulp or pulpy (as in pulp romance, not pulp adventure or pulp scifi) may be a more appropriate term for what "trash" is trying to get across, if you want another word. Definitely a real point tho lol. There's SOoo many series and one-shots on here that aren't that good, but I love yuri so I'll keep reading that garbage.
[({this is a snowclone joke, there is no need to get upset about me suddenly calling it garbage})]

One of my least favorite aspects of crossdressing manga is the typical reliance on wigs and contact lenses (still don't really get this one tbh) for the girlification.

... All that to say, I really wanna see Kouyou/Momiji grow her hair out and look cute with her natural hair

Yeah, It's concerning that they are both separating the two personas, and Koyou/Momiji is still framing it as "I would do anything for her". But there were hints like their sister questioning if they are "doing things the right way" that their egg may still be in the process of cracking.

Genderfluid or something could also be valid, but slowly making "Koyou" more feminine too, and publicly at school, seems to suggest trans. I worry that in Japan, they will still be officially considered a man regardless of how they identify. But at least as Momiji, they are insisting they really are a girl, it's not just crossdressing.

momiji saying i'm a real girl was pretty based

this is getting more and more trans with each chapter lol

Edit: Konno's friends encouraging the feminization is also really funny

Not about the chapter per se but I think is funny how everyone had a 180 with this manga in two chapters. Haha.

Maybe pessimistic of me but I think the direction the author is going to take will be that, Ao will discover that she simply doesn’t like regular guys (idk how to explain this) and instead she like soft/cute guys. That would be the reason why every chapter ends with her getting the most heartbeats when she imagines Kouyou doing what Momiji did. Basically we will end with Dominant gf Sub bf. similar to how some lesbians never discovered they were lesbians because most women are fem until a masc women entered their life and everything clicked because the lack of attraction to feminine girls did not make them see that they liked women.

It looks like this work is going in the direction of either Ao liking both boys and girls but falling for a trans genderfluid Momiji (girlfriend) + Kouyou (boyfriend) (the "Momiji & Kouyou System"? accidental plurality in this work?) or Ao indeed just liking girls but Kouyou is slowly becoming the trans girl Momiji in full time. Very interesting development. I think this chapter warrants the addition of the Ambiguous gender tag (the "I am a real girl" is pretty clear cut imo in this work's thesis: that Momiji is a real girl even when Kouyou is separately a boy, and Ao is put in the place of figuring out who she likes by seeing the girl and the boy version of the same person). Curious to see where this goes!

At this point, I think the word choices in the first chapter were a clever marketing tactic to get eyes on the manga. And I mean... it worked, since I'm still here, at least? And feeling oddly hopeful about how the story may develop. Still would've preferred it not start off on a terrible foot, though.

I love this hypothesis, since I'm deeply amused at the coincidental similarities to some character developments in a tabletop RPG I've been running. (They weren't an accidental system, as it was a carefully considered character concept, though. More talking about their prospective girlfriend wondering "Do I like boys or do I like girls?" and landing on "Yes." During a clothes shopping trip, no less...)

There were some pretty major differences but I'll stop here so I don't ramble about off-topic things more than I already have.

My opinion on this manga is entirely predicated on whether or not the author lands the metaphorical plane of momiji's gender and transness. The manga seems? To be going for something closer to transfeminity so far, so to what degree in which it affirms Momiji being a girl will correspond to how well it'll all land for me I think

This is looking like it'll build up to be something really good damn. Sorry Momiji I did not respect your game.

I'd loooooooooove it if this is going in the direction that Momiji IS Kouyou's "true" self and Ao's increasing fondness for "Kouyou" is merely her finding ways to see Girlhood through the sheer eggstrocity of it all. (And thus that she's still totally gay.) Still not sure that, or even a more gender-fluid approach, (hell even a "cishet but continuing to be gender nonconforming" approach) is where things are headed though. But each chapter does seem to make Actual Trans Girl Momiji more probable, so at this rate....????

One man's trash is another man's treasure btw.

I consider most of the manga I consume "trash" (non-derogatory), so my trash is my treasure!
It's become tongue-in-cheek vernacular/slang in some circles and effectively replaces "pulp" when used to describe fiction, usually implying heavy use of tropes, cliché plot devices and designs. It by no means is to be read as "who made this shit, no one in their right mind would ever want this", but rather "yeah, it's junk food, but damn if it isn't exactly what I want right now."

I think this manga sits squarely in between being pulpy and trying to convey a message. I'm inclined to believe it'll have something interesting to say by the end, but I'm not holding my breath.
