See I didn't think that was the intended reading because to me that made even less sense!

Been waiting for the finale forever; at least it feels like it. Can't wait to see how this one wraps itself up. Barring some absolute randomness in the finale chapter, this is another great series for her.

I'm so happy! Ai has been navigating an absolute nightmare but she got out. I really like how Kaede was acting super confident Ai would return before long but literally just saying "it's a nice pendant sure but I liked it because I got it from the person I love and that's all it is" scared Kaede badly enough that she came running after Ai to plead her case.

But no, Ai is going to live life for herself now. With someone who actually lets her do that and who Ai can help live her own life too. Together but for themselves.

I'm so glad she finally left that place and that toxic ass person. Curious if were gonna find out she's dead next chapter.

I'm glad that Ai went to meet Kaeda and was able to see through her. If she didn't, I think it would have haunted her the rest of her life. I still wished she threw away the pendent though. If not her herself, then for Gon.

Can't wait for the final. A full chapter seems enough to wrap things us nicely.

I am too but I'd rather we never know what happened to her. It be a better representation of Ai's decision.

I could see that for Kaede's sake but keeping the pendant is a powerful decision as well. It shows how little meaning it has for AI now. Throwing it away could carry the feeling of AI needing to distance herself from something she can't resist.

Really good analysis on the pendant!

I also think it’d be best for us to never know Kaeda’s fate for Ai’s character arc. Plus it allows the reader to imagine their own ending regarding Kaeda, whether she moves onto the next victim, ends it all, or (hopefully) finding the help she needs.

I really dont think thats how it was meant to come across, but the line about souls being born and returning to a dark place like the ocean floor lowkey sounds like Ai is telling Kaede to drown herself lol

Next chapter is the last. Not much can happen, except a happy epilogue.

It makes sense. I get that throwing it away would give it too much value. But If it has no meaning to her, keeping it doesn't make sense as well (might just be me, but I don't like to keep useless/meaningless stuff). She could sell it and buy something nice for Kon for example.

"To be continued" honestly this is a good chapter to end the series, but if we're getting more chapter I'm not complaining.

i think it's a call back to ai's conversation with kon early on where kon says that when she's overwhelmed, she imagines herself as a deep sea fish. kind of showing indirectly what a huge impact on ai she's had

To me, it makes more sense if you think about it as a matter of control. Kaede was using the idea of fate to take control away from Ai and make her feel powerless (which is a typical goal for an abuser), saying that even if she throws away the pendant it'll just wash back on shore or otherwise make its way back to her. By keeping the pendant, Ai takes control of where the pendant is and thus what its meaning is
