This was the part I was waiting for since reading ahead because I was just as confused about the nature of Junna's past. I don't really have anything new to say that haven't been said although I am willing to let the author cook with this one. I think ckretaznmayden's theory is pretty on point on solving the age dilemma and in any case, the magical girl Junna is basically buried deep and it's not like current Junna seems to remember anything on her time as one at the moment. A potential hook if the author decides to bring any other older/previous magical girls that used to work with Junna before her loss to the dark side.

I am a little disappointed that Junna ended up as a magicial girl first -> turned bad -> turned to neutralish (but not exactly the same person as when she was a magical girl) since it does kinda undermine what I expected from the evil general concept (mainly being born evil who learns to be better because she likes and was saved by the magical girl) but I believe it is kind of a staple with villians in magicial shows to usually be from humans that were corrupted either for the week or as a major antagonists so by all means, I ended up being okay with it.

I also do enjoy Hane's despair with the whole ordeal, even if Junna is saved for now and no longer works for the evil organization. There is a sense of tortured guilt having hurt the exact one who saved you and inspired you to become a magical girl in the first place. Of course, not to mention the potential future where Hane might end up being pressured to kill Junna for real due to the consequences of Junna being a former evil general (or more likely, mirror Junna by turning bad as a result of this ordeal). Good stuff.

So that was why there was flowers...Thanks Ckretaznmayde for point that out...I was wondering why the flowers were even there and why there was no blood at all despite trying to look for any blood. So basically tasteful artistic representation or substitute during the dream. Kind of like how blood is often 95% pink in Danganronpa.

I look forward to the future chapters to see if one of the many guesses/theories actually hit the bullseye or close to it or in the rare case a very unexpected and unique situation that Author/Artist might spin for their story.

First page says "a few years ago", so Lil Hana should be like 12... but then page 4 says "when I was a kid"

(If you don't want to read the long boring block of text,
TL;DR[ToolongDidn'tread]- We do not know Hana's exact age at the time unless you know it from the raws/future chapters + 11-12 years is technically still considered a kid by some people.)

Technically we do not know Hana's exact age at the time, we can only give an estimation and best accurate guess.
it said a few years (So more than 2 years but likely less than 5 or 6 years at most...Maybe 7 years if the author is really pushing it and doesn't know the when to use the term 'several').

It also depends on the author's knowledge and experience in what exactly counts as a 'few' and if author knows how much is 'several years' means. We are given a vague number of years and a image of a younger Hana.

Kind of like how people have sometimes different views of what 'few' and 'several' means at times since there is not a 100% clear taught answer and even if it was taught, it would probably be half-forgotten as not really important knowledge. A couple is easy to know (2, 1+1) and always easy to remember and hard to forget. Kind of like how a dozen is always 12 and hard to forget.

A few= 3 to 4 at least, but also sometimes it can range from 3 to 5 or even 6 for some people...Like say if someone ask someone how much money they have in their pocket (They have about 5 to 6 dollars...Would they say they have a few dollar or several dollars. Of course they would say a few since it roll off the tongue easier for them. Kind of like how a pack of wolves can range from a small 3 or 4 to 10+ wolves.)
It's also depends once again on whenever the author is using the term casually or very strictly by the definition.

Several: Often more than 3 but always at least max of 6-7+ in numbers....But sometimes people use the term several to mean 3 to 5 in numbers as well...Like "That guy was here several minute ago (Thinking they meant 5 to 7 but they really meant 3-5 minute ago)".

Though you can also argue how 8 or 9 can be technically counted as 'several' as well but there is also the term 'Many' to use (a word for a large number of things you can count, but it does not mean a single exact number. There doesn't seem to be a strict rule so 8-10 can count to even 50-100+ as describing the term 'many').

...

Though I have to say...10 to 12 years old is still considered a kid, isn't it???? like 11-12 is kind like considered a kid by people I think?
10-11 is just a very old kid (4-5th grade) and 11-12 is about 6th grader age. You can argue that 12 years old is technically pre-teen, almost teenager and therefore not a kid. You be totally valid in your comment if Hana was actually 13 years at the time though since Hana would be technically wrong herself and she just doesn't know that 13 years is not a 'kid' anymore (Teenager would be correct term) since 13 is officially the beginning age of a teenager.

...Kind of like how 16 to 17 years (Very old teenager but yet not a adult, that awkward middle ground and phase of almost being a adult) is still technically considered a 'minor(Sometimes kids by adults in their mid 20s)' by the public but often but used unless they need the term to be used as legal law protection or to make news more sympathetic in a few cases when serious stuff happen that need legal court systems. Kind how like how some people can argue that 19 years old is still a technically a teenage and not an adult since ninth-'teen'/Nine'Teen' and not twenty(True official adult in their minds).

...
...
Yes...I know that I spend way too much time thinking, over-explaining and texting all these stupid silly non-sense out for your casual relax comment but I spend too many (Technically between few to several depending on your definition and experience) minutes typing this all out to not post it...

Apologize to you and other people for the random large block of text...I am not going to quit and erase it just cuz it too long/large.

I will just laugh and shake my head if Smol Hana in the flashback is actually like 6-7+ years old like one comment suggested jokingly XD

I also do enjoy Hana's despair with the whole ordeal, even if Junna is saved for now and no longer works for the evil organization. There is a sense of tortured guilt having hurt the exact one who saved you and inspired you to become a magical girl in the first place.

I see that your also a sophisticated woman/man/-insert whatever pronoun here- of culture as well lol!

It kind of surprising how much your taste in certain in craving for certain emotion and facial expression on the story's character can change after a few years of reading stories/manga/manhwa/whatever story art comicstyle/webseries

Though...I really doubt Hana's friend would ever try to force Hana to do something so foolish and stupid even if they find out (Doesn't fit their personality unless Junna perform some really messed up sh*t like killing a lot of people, best case scenario they be a bit shock and wary before shrugging and going on their day afterwards)

...The higher ups of their magical organization(Assuming there is a large organized group) and random other magical girls on the other hand is very fair game though for such a potential future/scenario. Though they would just be shooting themselves in the foot if they ever try to do something like that...A possibly full potential winged gem heart magical girl is likely a veteran and very rare force to be reckon with.

Not only do 'few' and 'several' overlap in English usage, but those are the translated terms, from what Japanese originals.

Anyways, I love the flowers representing the gore and bloodshed instead of actually showing what that would look like. Very good choice.

Good catch! I hadn't really placed that the flowers match the scar pattern from the other chapter. That was one hell of an attack she got hit with, damn

So Hane's scars come from healing Junna? From metaphysically and literally sharing the burden of Junna's sins. But that raises the question of what those subs were, and if Junna's ultimately responsible for them. The magical system seems to think so since both Hane and Junna bear the "scars" of them

「I'll let my soul be stained black if that's what it takes」

Poor Hane :( but hahaha, she slept hugged Junna for 3 hours and then apologized in dogeza, probably to hide her beat-red embarrassment. Also Hane's love language is hugging huh? I guess it's obvious upon rereading it but yeah, she do like hugs.

Now that I think about it though, upon rereading Chapter 1 because I wanted to check if her comment on "being the only one allowed to defeat Hane" has a double meaning on freeing her from the magical girl stuff but it seems ambiguous. I guess if I were to just read it at face value is that going by Chapter 1, Junna very much likes Hane, and is positively influenced by her but she is still seeking to regain her powers seemingly to get a rematch? Or maybe it's for something else? I guess old habits as a villain in a magical girl show dies hard even if it will likely be for love.

I wonder if it's less about freeing Hane from the magical girl stuff and more about freeing Hane from her self-hatred, though it doesn't seem like Junna is very aware of that. But it would be nice for Junna to reassure Hane that she isn't helpless and that she doesn't blame Hane for almost killing her - they were enemies after all.

What I can't figure out still is do the other two know that Junna is the former evil general?

花子 as Hane? Japanese people do some psychotic things with their language, I swear. Though... I went to jisho to see if it was listed there as a reading and it's not, but some of these others... god...

also re: page 6, 不可抗力 would generally be used to refer to the situation here, not physical strength, wouldn't it? So not "she's stronk", but "I didn't do shit".

Hane: God, please grant Junna a long and happy life...
God: Girl, you're her future wife, that's literally your job, ffs.

EDIT: Also, something interesting: just who is it who calls Hane "hani", as in "honey", in the flashback? I was under the impression that it was either Lemon or the other MG, but they are not nearly as chummy with her in the present.

I think we shouldn't try to put a 100% logical sequence to this yet, I wouldn't surprise me if the artist has been experimenting or has changed part of the plots as they develop the story. That said, since it is chapters short and relatively new story too, there are very vague concepts that might be further explained as it goes on.

Honestly though, my biggest complaint is that the title should be: The Magical Girl Is Crushing On The Former Evil General because so far while yes it is obviously mutual the horny one is Hane. Lmao

most likely a precure-style fairy helper character since it seems knowledgeable about what she's trying to do

Is Lemon's name Tenaki or Tenkai? I initially read Hane's name as Hanako, so I got things wrong as well. "thrashing" instead of "trashing".

Anyways, Hane might have made some sort of contract to keep the both of them alive and together. That is to say, they are bound together for the rest of their lives. Possibly.

It's not that simple, because Junna is also the magical girl who saved Hane's life. So Hane's guilt is way deeper than she lets on.

This situation probably won't be resolved until they open up to each other. Hane should tell Junna she was the little girl Junna saved in the past. Junna should tell Hane how she fell to the dark side. Then they can help heal each other.
