Mannn I was rooting for Sumire too...
The "When I am in love, I am beautiful" line at the end there reminded me of an earlier line; "beautiful people in love are poisonous"
And I just realized that MC was conflating being love with becoming beautiful. Maybe it's cuz I've never experienced it first hand myself, but I wonder if MC actually was in love with Marie?
With the focus on beauty and looks what if MC just got it wrong? And really, she's only obsessed with Marie because she's the one who helped her become beautiful like she had always wanted to.
And again, maybe it's just cuz I've never fallen for anyone, but it seems kinda narcissistic to turn being in love with someone else into smthn about yourself by suggesting that being in loves makes you beautiful. It turns love into this pure(?) thing where you seek out another person and become happy together into this symbol/measure of your own worth.
maybe it's just cuz I'm dumb but her immediately resorting to murder doesn't make sense to me unless she isn't actually in love with Marie, esp cuz she said she didn't mind if her feelings weren't returned. Idk how you go from that mindset to poisoning your own father just cuz you can't live with a woman during your uni years. The same woman who said y'all could still hang out too?
Idk how you go from being called AI cuz you only care about if smthn is good for you or not to actively acting in against what's best for you?
Poor Sumire... She'll feel better once she sees Makoto on the news.
She might feel better in hindsight but she'll def be mortified or sad in the moment. There's no way you can see your crush on the news for murder and not be a little disheartened
All I got from that is gay yearning strong enough to forget you shouldn't kill someone with daffodils because it's too obvious.
maybe she's counting on plausible deniability? Like, if she grew chives in the garden too she could argue that she grabbed the wrong plant? But she'd also have to explain the rubber gloves if she normally doesn't wear them when making that dish.
