4 of my 6 former partners were ill, 2 of them extremely serious but I did not realized that until the relationships were over. Bofh of them have multipule personality disorder and both have paranoid schizohreia on top. One of them also has bipolar. Both of them knew how to manipulate extremely well, including manipulate for no reasons. Such as accusing someone of sexual harrassment then proceed to secretly cheating on me with that person. The other one was so paranoid that she put firearms next to the windows in all four walls in her room. My parents adored the most manipulative one,while did express concern about the other's physical health, which turned out to be fake. In any case, they were reaally good at manipulation, however, there is no reason for it. Ai will just be wasting time looking for answers. First there was none, second what Kaede said showed that there was somethibg seriously wrong which has nothibg to do with Ai. Ai was just unlucky to know Kaede.

Looking back, I did not know those two exes at all. I gave up trying to get closure because closure actually achieved by recognizing their insanity. I was just unlucky to meet them. I also only knew one side of them, or whatever side they wanted to show to me. It would be similar to what Ai experiencing now, that is, just what Kaede really is, or another side of her. Kaede definitely has the persona of a cult leader. Maybe the husband knows and try to help, but cannot really tell Ai and Kon the truth, as it is both embarrassing and frightening.

You actually cannot force someone to seek help. You cannot call the professionals to take the person to the ward (or sectioned) unless the person harming herself or planing to harm others. Further more, it usually requires close relatives or dometsic partners to make the phone call for help. Friends do not count unless they are the ones who personally felt threatened. Ai qualifies not because they were dating (but not anymore), but rather Kaede choked her. Ai genuinely believed that Kaede tried to murder her.

Yes. That is the law. A stranger technically can also report, but the chance of succeeding having the person committed is slim. Unless the stranger has concrete evidence, so as a website manifesto declaring the plan to murder someone specific.

I have nothing against people who have that level of mental illness. But I do hope everyone can recognize and understand how mentalily ill such a person is, especially in dating situation. Take as much time as possible to know the person.

Yeah, I understand Ai not wanting to leave Kaede alone because she's afraid Kaede would commit suicide, but there's nothing she can actually do. Words will not reach her and she's clearly set on whatever insane scenario she came up with. The best Ai can do is not get herself pulled down along with Kaede. It doesn't matter if she feels guilty or like she has responsibility for Kaede - getting herself hurt or worse would only result in two causalities instead of one.

What part of this is unnecessary or just a misunderstanding? What would further communication solve? They all have different opinions and outlooks but none of that is a mystery to either of them.

tbh in this case it works. a big theme through this story has been trust, and now this getting resolved hinges on ai and kon trusting each other. i reread the whole manga over and it's set up really well, i have a feeling this ending will be very satisfying

Getting help is no longer taking one to straightjackets. We're in the XXI century, not the XIX. You have the "I" on the wrong side of the second "X". Which belief is one of the reasons that most hurt the efforts to give help to those who need it. Instead of hamfisted attempts to force one to get help,

I've found that plainly stating to the one in need of help that those who think that way,s if we we're in the XIX century, are just plain wrong, that "just like physical health goes from a headache to brain cancer, and believing everyone who goes to the doc is a terminal patient beyond salvation, mental health is NOT just 'being crazy'", and "you know that better than the ones who think so, don't you?". WIth that argument (or similar ones) I've actually managed to get several of the people of my bitter experience to seek help. Severe depressions. Plural. One case of schizophrenia. Teenagers (plural) whose parents refused to beliee ADHD or ASD were real things... Others, I've had no success. But reallt do you think I should have not tried to give help to he ones that TOOK the help, just because others didn't?

And of the ones nobody (including me) tried, at least one commited suicide. Having a failure to get a loved one to seek help may or may not weight on one's conscience: having a death due to failue to even TRY to help, fuck me, but it does.

This shall be my last comment in this regard. Sorry, but no words ever shall beable to convince me that I sould not have tried. Please DO try if you find that it needs trying.

And Ai san.. why did you not listen to Kaede san?

It feels like everyone has an opinion towards Kaede san but no one wants to listen to her side of story.
I'm not trying to side with Kaede san but I just feel like..is it okay to hear what she's going to say?

(In the first place,we only know who Kaede san based on people's impression towards her-- her husband saying she's a manipulator; then Ai san.
And then through Kaede san's actions: putting photos out to probably both her husband and Ai san and see who cares about her, finds her..)

Isn't that the reason why Ai san comes to find Kaede san in the first place? To find out if she's still alive, or safe , and that to make a resolution?(Or so I think what it is. I may be wrong v.v..)

It does make Kaede san feels like she's broken on the inside but I think she does, but not in a psychopathic tendency.

And I start to understand why people call Kaede san psychopath.
Is it because she doesn't react properly that people call her unnatural?

She should feel sad and cry but she didn't.
She can only cope her angry, despair.. sadness through smiles..

If only she could express properly too how she feels..

Kon san is a really good girl v.v...
Ai san is very fortunate to have met her v.v..
