I don't understand why so many people is complaining about the last chapters released. I think they are totally coherent with the story and the way it has been told so far. And knowing that there's at least one volume left I still have my yuri hope alive :)

why people remember fukushima not the tsunami? why???

Because Fukushima was man's fault.

Tsunamis or earthquakes are none's fault.

And the consequences of Fukushima will stay with us for centuries.

Yeah, because the word "nuclear" was involved, there was a lot of hysteria beyond the actual damage caused. The advantage at least is that all the other plants in Japan are pulling up their socks and getting proper safety measures in place, which were way too lax up to this point.

Nez is right. The lax safety measures are the main reason why Fukushima went so wrong. Had the Japanese government actually spent the time and money upgrading the plant to modern standards it likely it would have survived the tsunami easily.
Modern nuclear power plants are without a doubt the safest and most durable power production systems in the world, so long as people take the time to keep them in tip-top shape. They are also one of the cleanest so long as the nuclear waste is properly disposed of. Far cleaner than fossil fuels like oil, natural gas and especially coal, the latter of which is so filthy that it amazes me that its still even legal to burn coal.

Well, except that uranium mining is anything but clean or carbon-neutral. Certainly it's a net improvement over oil and coal (not sure how natural gas stacks up). And of course hydro is way better where available.

Thing with Fukushima is that the media and panicked laypeople have blown the danger outside the immediate area of the plant way out of proportion. Stuff like it irradiating the west coast US, making all Pacific fish stocks useless, contaminating Japanese beef, and so forth. It's all nonsense.

Yeah right, blame the japanese government.

Everyone knows governments are evil, right? That's the way every self-respectable american thinks.

Oh, shoot, TEPCO was a private business. Who wanted profits and then cut corners on security.

And that's why a strong government is needed kids. To keep businesses from playing with your lives for money.

Well, yeah. Government wasn't inspecting the plants as they were built or during operation to make sure standards were adhered to, which is one thing governments are actually for. Certainly it's a better use than getting all up in arms and trying to prevent same-sex marriage and other LGBT rights issues.

Seriously, when you need Homestuck-level reading between the lines, parsing vague references and recalling details months after the fact, you're not communicating well. The last three chapters or so have been a case of Shou neither telling or showing, which he's usually been at least decent about throughout the rest of the series.

What exactly has been communicated poorly? Everyone seems to have figured out that Keiko's moving away because of work. Did people seriously want to see the re-breakup confrontation with the ex? This manga isn't even about that guy; it has always been pretty clearly about the relationship between Ran and Keiko (regardless of yuri). The only chapters that guy was even in was when Ran found out he was the guy and when Ran told Keiko how he still felt about her.

Just because people have eventually worked it out doesn't mean it's communicated very well.

Yep, everyone figured it out when the chapter that said outright that she's moving away came out. Nezchan was saying that there was virtually no information that it was gonna happen before the chapter.

Seems like people need it to be spelled it out to them.

Everyone figured out that she's moving away when she said she's moving away. What's not certain is why she's moving, nor when the decision to move was made. Maybe you missed all the messages going "WTF!? Why is she moving away? Why didn't we get any more indication than the bit about sorting clothes?" The fact that she's moving for work is still just speculation, three chapters later, and no idea if it's temporary or permanent since "coming back" could easily mean "coming back for a visit".

Yeah, I understand that we the readers are uncertain about some things. That's not equivalent with the author communicating poorly in his work. The minor details are irrelevant to the message he is communicating.

Why should we have gotten any more indication than the packing clothes? The style of storytelling in this manga isn't like a Hollywood movie, where exposition is laid out in a long paragraph for the reader to digest with their dinner mint. The characters aren't talking to the reader. If Shou had dedicated a whole chapter to some sappy "I'm moving away" conversation, it would have been a jarring departure from the style he's been using this whole time.

No idea if it's temporary or permanent? So we're in the same boat as Ran, then. We're not entitled to more information than her.

Why did we confirm Keiko's pregnancy and miscarriage only in chapter 22? Some people like it spelled, some prefer reading into nuances and subtext. Stretch is perfect for the latter. And to achieve that Shou's been communicating everything perfectly in small quanta, one thing by another, bit by bit.

Who knows... maybe the moving away part will be the trigger for Keiko to realize our dormant feelings for her love of Ran and show up at Ran's place for a night of hot, sweaty, all night stretching!
