^ '' bleh'', also someone explain to me how the numbering works for these extra chapters

I suppose the colored chapters are at the beginning of each volume and the stretches extra are in the end, the numbering is made up to place them in the right position... is that what you asked ?

I am wondering why 22,5 has the cover of ran from vol 4

Roomie

I think that's just because the scanlator put the last cover in date at the beginning of the chapters he does, not the cover of chapter's volume. Chapter 23 have the cover of volume 2 too (or 1 I don't remember).

She's not in denial, nor homophobic. The thought just never crossed her mind because it's out of her reference framework. Like most people, she's probably not been confronted to gay/lesbians in her life.

For a lot of people, "gays" are something alien you see on tv or in the news, not in your neighborhood. And even less as your roomate.

I do not know if Keiko is in denial, but even where we saw Keiko ever felt like kissing Ran. chapter 12 and chapter 30

Actually It is the cover from volume 3, the volume 4 isn't out yet. But this cover isn't on the volume 3 chapters because the cover wasn't out when the chapters where scanlated

I think we all should be used to Shou's teasing by now, but dammit, I was hoping it was a real kiss anyway lol.

At least as importantly, she's never had a meaningful relationship that's turned out well. The closest was her last one, and then the miscarriage and general horribleness that came along with it happened. I doubt she even has a reference point at all for "supportive, healthy and enjoyable romance".

Before getting into bullshit theories about homophobia, don't forget the obvious, story-supported things staring you in the face. And for that matter even referenced in the most recent chapter.

I hate you, Shou, but I love you, but I hate you. :/

Is it just me or the last few days have people been overreacting towards Stretch almost as much as they do with Citrus? There's still very clear development going on. Them actually getting in a relationship this soon would feel kinda rushed anyways. It seems rather unlikely that they'll be in a relationship for awhile realistically. Until some of their personal problems are taken care of at the very least.

Angst. People suck at handling angst. Look at any simulpub'd anything and people get angsty over the angsty characters doing angsty things and respond in angsty ways (typically salty rage). Stretch has more an aura of angst lately (although not enough to warrant a tag)...enough that it caused this reaction.

Shou has handled this magnificently, and I think he will continue to do so. If the two do end up together, it will definitely one of the best canon ships we've come across in a long time.

There's really no angst in Stretch. A bit because of the miscarriage thing and because of Ran's father death, but nothing too overwhelming.

I think people are overreacting because the relationship makes no explicit progress. It's all low key and subtexty and it's frustrating.

I don't think that is that. I think that's more a case of fear of uncertainty about the future.
We don't really know what Shou is thinking to do with this series. And deep in our hearts we fear that Shou will do the ultimate troll move and give this series and het end.

The only het end I can guess at, would be Keiko getting back with her ex and restart from there, with Ran supporting them, while trying to get over her crush. That woud send people waiting for yuri in a fit of rage (including me) but that wouldn't be an bad ending if Keiko can find happiness. As for Ran, well, heartbreaks happen.

Anyway, the way the story goes right now, unless something big happens to get them closer than they are now (which is already a lot), I can't see them getting out of the friendzone.

I don't understand people who think the ex is an option. The guy seems completely over Keiko and even when he was whining over her he didn't seems to try to recontact her or do anything... I don't see how it can be good for her to go back to him, the guy just gave up.

Not saying he's bad and totally in the wrong but it seems just over to me

Well I'm fairly sure there is still stuff that has been hinted at still in store, so I don't think we should be too worried.

And if there's a het end, I think someone new will be bought in.

Unless Shou decides to troll us with Ran getting with the ex, I can totally see him doing that in the last chapter.

Because it's the only male in the whole 3 volumes that got more than 1 appearance and even got to know Ran.

It's just that he's the only option yet. Making him appear twice can't be innocent.

So, unless Shou throw another guy in the ring, he's the only one who can give Ran a run for her money.

You know it. Shou will totally get them to hook up. The ensuing rage will only feed him.

I was thinking something more like the ex going for Ran, Ran shutting him down like really hard and the reader exulting =D

You have too much faith in Shou. This will be your undoing when he reveals his ultimate troll and your hopes are crushed. Cynicism is the only way to save your soul.

Getting your hopes up is the best way to get them crushed.

Crushes work in mysterious ways. Just because the only thing he does now is whining doesn't mean he's given up on her at all. I don't think anyone sees how it can be good for Keiko to go back to him, but that's not necessarily the case for her herself. If she really had true feelings for him, and if he really tries his best, in her opinion, like, you know, melts her heart - it may happen and she may forgive him. At least they don't seem like they properly ended their relationship, as it felt more like Keiko ragequitting due-to the miscarriage.
That essentially doesn't mean it's a het ending either, of course, because they are likely to break up very soon again just as well, forever this time. Or Keiko may reject him from the get-go. Or the guy might not even get the courage to get close to her again. It all depends on how string will Shou decide to troll the audience. Because, come on, essentially the manga is about the two girls living and stretching together. So everything that breaks this flow for more than a chapter or two will break the manga itself.
In that sense, I agree with you that the guy isn't a real option for Keiko. It's just that I'm afraid she's blind to it yet. And I wouldn't be that confident about the ex approaching Keiko again. Even if he tries to go for Ran, once he learns that Ran and that Keiko are roommates, he might reconsider and try to approach Keiko.

Cynicism is the only way to save your soul.

amen.
