Ugh, honestly I kinda hate this move from the author.

Personaly the reason why I love harems (where most seems to hate them) is because I'm a nerd for good character interactions. Though there was several flags already that this wasn't this type of story, I love when the characters are given the space to live and breath and be their own person outside of the MC, and I think the Karin-Riri flirting, Maria-Kaoru tension, or Minato-Kaoru bonding moments were good example of this and kinda made me hopeful for the rest of the story (it was literally in my top 5 running yuri series until now lol).

But this to me proves the author barely thought about their own characters past the "5 senses" schtick and don't plan on doing so, which is disappointing to say the least. Senpai was soo immemorable, it's like she was there and then kinda just left.

Anyway all this to say, if you genuinely don't know how to write side-characters outside of their relationship to the MC and don't intend on milking the hell out of every potential ship, personality and dialogue in your harem story, then you're making poor use of a harem imo !

I gotta say, if Ena really died during that landslide then it's kinda fucked up how the love goddess seems to insist on using people they might have been the closest to as part of these new cupids' first cases lmao.

Could Ena be cosplaying as one of the living in her spare time?

Didn't even thought of that. She seems extremely WW1 coded to me and has kind of an "old soul", which honestly had me assumed she died in like 1912, so her death being so recent was kind of a surprise. But maybe she's just being an historical nerd.

That being said her bullying history seemed to be very real and I don't think the classmates would remember her name once she switches up if "Hasumi" was just a cupid cover-up.
