I know that's always been the joke, but really, you'd be surprised at how different a person can look if you take off their glasses and change their hairstyle a bit. I think it's some sort of pun on pan (panties) and bread being read(?) the same. It always makes reading JP comments from artists on twitter interesting because the google translate will always read it as bread so you'd have mentions of string bread
