This is the harm mitigation strategy to dealing with teenage pregnancy and STDs: you can't stop teenagers from fucking, but maybe you can encourage them to fuck safely. I don't know about the rest of the world, but it's pretty common where I live.

Not generally the case it all depends on what your doing my co-op partners range from frycook to lawyer we all play games with each other and still remain close friends even after 9 years. Hell the frycook was the best man at the lawyers wedding. As long as theres a common intrest any two people can get along.

I agree! Though I also think that's the reason why this story doesn't feel as angsty as some of Kodama's work: it's true that we are uncertain about what Kiku thinks, but at the same time we really have no reason to believe she means to leave Shuuko. That makes me a little more optimistic, at least

Basically a nice exploration of teenage insecurity and uncertainty (and to a degree envy, I suppose). Whether the anxieties are founded or not is beside the point and outside the scope of the one-shot anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And yeah by Kodama standards this is downright light and fluffy. Then again looks like a relatively early work too which might of be relevant...
