This woman is bad news. I love her!

Seriously, what an interesting character, I am SAT for this one. Give them years of therapy worth of issues!!!
But anyway, people, why would you apply your actual moral code to a story? You need to meet the story where it is! The best way to enjoy it, is to see it from outside your own lens.
Why wouldn't your moral code color how you read a story? I can't think of any case where that makes sense.
i think they mean you need to let the narrative speak for itself before you make any judgments. let it take you where it wants to take you, and only after that can you judge it fairly. and if that's not something you can do, maybe the work just isn't for you.
but also i agree that what's interesting within fiction and what's healthy or not irl are two separate things. a character can be morally reprehensible but also really interesting and fun to read/watch. fiction isn't the real world, but it is a mirror, so you can explore situations and dynamics (that would be terrible otherwise) to your heart's content.
back on topic, i will admit harutaka being 40 made me go "oh god" (i'm absolutely applying a double standard here though because if he were a woman id be cheering lmao). so far he's a decent guy objectively, but something feels off to me. like a weird power dynamic or possessiveness or...? i think miss homewrecker over here is going to expose all the flaws and cracks in their relationship, and if that's the case, i kind of hope they divorce lmao
