Murderer mom, torturer daughter. I think this is more a case of "evil family coming together".

I get that it's not the tone the story is going for, but it's the problem with a lot of stories that use the Historical tag. When you take a step back and look at things with perspective, the villains aren't really villains and the heroes aren't heroes at all.

I find it hard to be strongly supportive of either side of this conflict.

Just casually praising the Scanlation team for noticing references to the Lúnyǔ, which, no matter how prominent, still is some millennia-old text in a foreign language to draw a connection to. That's legit impressive work.
