As mentioned in the author's notes at the end, there was an earlier draft of this released at GLFes in 2013. There's no digital version I could find, but from the announcement on Pixiv (https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/35849399), it looks like it covered the same main story beats.

i love yuni's work soooo much, and this is no exception. i really like the way their meeting was portrayed especially? just kind of gravitating toward each other, and hitting it off so well where they can't stop talking and don't want to part ways. it felt really sweet and realistic!

Since it was Yuni I was bracing myself for some bitter parts and possible sadness or angst, but this was pretty chill and wholesome.
