I mean, yeah. There's something there.
But at the same time this whole "the alien is just a highschool girl from another outer space and otherwise basically human with a silly name and dealing with the typical human highschool problems" feels somewhat trite at this point; and like one of those anime tropes you've seen a billion times. Maybe I just got a grumpy day, but I wished it was a bit ... more.

To each their own, I think it's great so far.
Oh, I really like the art style! The way the eyes are stylized especially really captured my attention, which I guess is important for a manga that looks like gaze is going to be important and with so many eye shots. And I get the breasts are ridiculous but Lulu's design is so over the top with details and ruffles and flowing things that it doesn't feel unbalanced on her to me. She's like a wedding cake of a woman
Ten's design also works really well together with hers. It's cute that they have a similar style of bangs

I feel like the whole setup is meant to be a throwback of sorts to the type of romcoms-for-boys that were popular in the 2000s. Improved instantly by making it yuri, of course. The yuri dynamic actually reminds me of Stardust Telepath, with the human protagonist feeling like an alien among her own kind.

Yeah our human MC feeling alienated by those around her really adds to the dynamic in a huge way, and it's something I think a lot of people can probably relate to (myself included).
I mean, even in those straight romcoms an important part of the plot is exactly that the protagonist feels alienated, with the alien girl being the only one who truly understands him. You know, the boy who feels that he does not fit and the alien girl who finally sees him for who he really is, etc. So it is nothing new in this setting.
her chest is #Massive but i think its okay.. other than that this is pretty cool and i will be glad to see more

Hmm maybe so, everything is inspired by something, but regardless I found this to be unique in it's own ways and a very fun dynamic. Fair enough if it's not something some people here enjoy, but I'm excited for more and am loving it so far.

I guess what stands out to me is the specific way Ten and Lulu are 'alienated', since it's a pretty broad concept otherwise. It's not the more general disconnect with peers teenagers (or really anybody at any age) experience, or the way being shy and awkward can make it hard for someone to socialize.
Ten was put on a pedestal as a 'girl prince' for being a tall tomboy, and her reputation flipped to 'freak' overnight. And the reason why she feels a sense of kinship with Lulu now is not that Lulu is literally from a different planet, but how eager some people seem to be to treat Lulu as a freak as well. Rather than a subjective feeling of alienation, both girls are subjected to (what I believe is called) 'othering' while also treated as objects of fascination.
I mentioned that flavor of straight romance because of the setup (spicy non-human waifu conveniently drops into your lap) and Lulu's design. Some of those straight romances probably share this theme, but the female lead 'understanding' the male lead in a way others don't is on its own just a staple of the romance genre, and does not require her to be non-human. I referenced Stardust Telepath because it's yuri with a space alien and a girl who is bad at communicating but that one doesn't quite share this theme either.

That's how I feel about it as well, yeah. Nothing to really add, the allegory seems really appropriate
Fair.
I mean, Ten is a girl, so obviously the reasons why she would feel alienated are different from what a male MC would do, but to me at least the overall idea it’s not different from other mangas with this setting, because in many of these stories, the reason why mc feels kinship with the non-human love interest is not because she is not human, it is because of the similarity in how people treat them (fear them, assume things about them, admire them, etc.) without trying to know them.
I hope it doesn't seem like I am calling the story boring, on the contrary I am intrigued because is a popular setting that I like plus yuri plus beautiful art

Yeah, I agree. Lulu's design is an absurdly over-the-top depiction of a super ultra feminine femme (who's giant). While the huge breasts and revealing outfit are certainly also for fanservice purposes, there's clear thought and intent put into the design, both to say something about Lulu and to contrast her with the butch/masc Ten.

I see what you're saying and I don't fully disagree, but I think there is a difference between the generic/abstract social awkwardness that isolates most male MCs in this genre (to make it easy for the presumed male nerd audience to self-insert into him) and the specific objectifying/fetishizing "pedestalization that immediately turns into contempt" treatment Ten faced as a masculine girl. Ten's experiences are much more specific and detailed because she's not designed to be an audience self-insert.
This strikes me as a less subtle yuri version of Onegai Teacher. So I’m here for it
Yep that’s why I said that the general idea is the same but the difference is that Ten is a girl, now I would not call her experiences detailed, there is only one chapter and some yuri use the "everyone treats me as a prince and I don't like it" superficially without deepening it. We have to see how the story progesses first. Either way I’m intrigued because it's full of things I like lol I hope we enter into ecchi territory too
so much shit happening and it's just chapter 1. i'm a bit overwhelmed (〒﹏〒) BUT IT LOOKS GOOD AND I THINK IT'S PROMISING also chap 1's story flow feels like it would be 10 chapters in other mangas (ykwim?)

If I'm thinking of the right thing the others are talking about, I don't recall it ever being a full manga, more just loose pages of interactions. It was a roughly humanoid alien and her handler.E: found a pic on site https://dynasty-scans.com/images/8136
Pretty sure you are talking about ADA from Hushabye Valley. It has some solo artworks but also a actual story. But the artist has done literally nothing in the last year or so
That's the one. Thank you for finding it. It's also worth noting that there's a webtoon version linked on the Author's page that goes up to pg. 28. Unfortunately, it hasn't updated since 2023 and the author's patreon doesn't seem to be much further ahead, but there is a fairly recent post that says they're getting back into things, so maybe we'll get lucky and the story will continue.

And they're already living together, nice.
This continues to be cute and entertaining, but I've also realized two things:
First, unlike a lot of the more traditional wifu-from-space rom-coms, Lulu is actually considerate of the people around her. Normally, at least the first alien is some combination of fairly arrogant and fairly headstrong. In particular, they very rarely leave the protagonist much say in their relationship or where they'll be living. By contrast, Lulu seems very empathetic with the people around her, even beyond Ten, and we see her actively considering the inconvenience and potential trouble she's caused Ten.
It's a very nice change of pace and, I suspect, a large part of why this take on an old concept feels so fresh.
The second thing I realized is that her heals are just strait up spikes. Or, more accurately, I realized she's going to be keeping the costume with the floating thumbtack heals, at least in the near term. Given her size and the points on those things, that can not be good for the floors she's walking on. On a related note, I wonder if the fact that she's the only student wearing her outside shoes indoors will be brought up.
The manga is cute and the comments are thoughtful so it falls upon me to make unfunny jokes

Kinda hoping Lulu gets a uniform eventually. Whenever it’s custom made I assume
Need more sci fi big women wearing impractically pretty clothing, rip manga twinstar.
I already miss that manga so much… I’m hoping this one will help fill the gap :(
Ditto!!

But then again... How many of those are yuri? For years, decades at this point, I have wished more common het anime plots to get an explicit yuri version or more than a version, or well a perspective of a romance between girls in that setting, so I am very thankful that we are here to witness it.

I almost forgot that I wanted to add what your comment made me realize-- I think there will be more importance to the whole Observer and Observed philosophy that Lulu presented in the first chapter, as you said, USUALLY in the popular rom-coms with space love interests they tend to be more... airheaded, or happy-go-lucky while here Lulu is-- very realistic in that she knows she is an outsider and the impressions she makes are important for the exchange as they can create versions of her species that she doesn't wish to happen.
Anyways, in other news:
I wanna be carried by a pretty alien girl

175 vs 214 whoagh
I have to wonder what Lulu’s standards are that, with all of human cuisine to consider, omurice made her list of top 10 dishes to try. I’m sure it’s tasty but it’s literally just an omelette slapped on top of some rice. There’s gotta be some more exciting dishes you want to eat girl.
...Huh, I swear she's definitely been drawn to be taller than 214cm, especially since the main source on making her look huge is how tall she is next to Ten who is apparently also gigantic for a japanese woman. (175 is FAR above average)
If I had guessed her height before the 214cm statement, I'd have guessed a minimum of around 240cm+.
Her size varies between shots, but I would rarely but her less than 50% taller than Ten yet apparently she's just about 22% taller.
THE NUMBERS, MASON! THEY DON'T ADD UP!
I love it????
