I'm curious where the political arcs will go, as Violet is obviously not downright villainous, and likely will end up being an important ally in any rebuilding of the fiefdom that happens from here on out.

Violet and Shion are cute, I assume they will be the deuteragonists of the story. Also, for anyone enjoying the series I encourage you to follow Sometime and Shou's fanbox since they make posts after every chapter telling a little about what happened behind the scenes of that chapter.

I keep reading this because I love the artstyle but it is hard to be invested when one of the character is so unlovable... I feel Frost is like that rough guy living in the forest all muscles no brain and I cannot wait for the story to go beyond that and finally get some character evolution. On the contrary the side couple is way nicer and I want more of them !

I'm of opposite mind in terms of lovable. I absolutely adore Frost, especially with this new chapter and her weary smile on page 19, that she's likely not even aware of herself. She's a woman who doesn't know she's in love yet, and she wants to maintain her distance from others for a variety of reasons that are gradually unfolding. Hopefully you'll also come to love Frost like I do.

Every time I see a chapter go up for this I get so excited. But omg, Frost's smile when she doesn't think anyone is looking?? Did she even realize she did that?? Aaaaaaaa! Also the whole "It tastes the same as it always does" in reference to a meal cooked with love? I think she finally got the fact Clarice means what she says. eeeeee I love it, and it pains me this only updates once a month

Frost is adorable and I think she's one of the most likable takes on the "rude with a soft gooey heart" archetype where while she is callous and rude, you can still understand where is coming from and why she's so reluctant on accept Clarice (plus you know, Clarice did marry her to get her hands on Frost's fortune). That said, Clarice being confused as to how approach Frost after kiss is a unequivocal sign that she's fallen in love for real and going by Frost's weary smile, the feeling is reciprocal to some degree.

We also got a little more insight on Dahlia and her relationship with Violet and I'm thinking that the previous Dark Knight was actually Frost's mom-

You were right, that's a younger Violet a while after the dragon attack, at her grandfather's grave (most likely). Also, Violet said out loud that Dahlia used to work for Graat in chapter 8.

This is adorable and I have no idea how it completely slipped past my radar. Doubt it’d ever get an anime adaptation, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t keeping my fingers crossed. Tall masc women that are unconditionally devoted to their short femme wives is a trope I would absolutely die on a hill for. <3
