Very edgy and not my kind of edge, but hey if others enjoy it I hope the series is good for them.

It's a rather common modern criticism of the Zombie setting that it's merely an excuse to indulge in killing people. This series at least doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to that.

Our protagonist with (basically) school shooter fantasies has a stuffed zombie elephant attached to her bag? Kinda made me think of the 2003 movie Elephant, which is about the events around a semi-fictional totally-not-the-Columbine-massacre.

Haa, thanks for pointing it out. I knew there was something that "felt right" with this but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Indeed, it's clear that Eko isn't particularly sane, nor is Risa, actually. The zombie setting seems to let them indulge in that insanity, so I'm really curious of what they'll do. A zombie apocalypse (and apocalypse in general) setting gives a lot more leeway in what directions things could go.

Or to put in more succinctly, the setting makes violence an option, and options are good when thinking about what could happen next !

But... let's just say I'm not here expecting fluff.

It kind of reminds me of Destroy It All and Love Me in Hell, with some elements from Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii.

This looks pretty interesting to me, the way our protag responded to that mention of zombie girl's other friend makes me think we could have some toxic possessiveness coming up.

A yandere protag already twitching over a friend of a zombie she just befriended. The zombie girl who killed countless other zombies is nervous of the protagonist. I'm game!

Man, that spook me a little. Also I wonder how complex this series going to be with Risa being a special zombie like is she special or just outright special and that's it. Though seems it's very straightforward so I don't think so. Seems like at the end there's possibility of yandere *smirk.

Idk why but it gives me I Love Amy vibes with their personalities. Can't wait to see the direction this goes!

The walk to school already was strongly reminiscent of Shaun of the Dead, which also ends with the world moving on.

How long was that time skip? I kinda feel like the protagonist is an unreliable narrator who during that time got up to some shenanigans she isn't telling or remembering...
I'll follow this for now, don't mind the edginess if it has a point, but we shall see.

Walk to school had a girl biting another girl, and a draped corpse, and bloody handprints. But also the MC walked past some guy apparently strolling.

Yeah idk if i'm into this. At this point its hard to tell if the bully murdering is just a power fantasy or if the author's actually going somewhere with it.
