I webt back and reread Shadi and Khara's arc again. Its so good. The main couple is ok but the relationship feels immature sometimes (they are kinda just 14 so). Probably we won't get much of Shadi and Khara anymore since their arc has wrapped up but I'd love to read a series about just them. Good for themmm

Khara and Shadi: Third World Fair (ie 2nd world fair of London) was in 1862.

Thugees worship Kali, they see that their criminal activities, especially murder, as an offering to Kali

Jirou: was critically injured in Lüshun, Battle of Lüshunkou was in 1894, .Jirou must have been turned by Aria that year. So he joined the army probably when he was around 18 (1892)

Maoa: Everyone left for Yokohama when the war began, which means 1894

It does not look good for Ichika.
You have to be on the verge of death to safely turned. Also considered that none of the interviewees cared about their past lives at all. Aria warnings about falling out of love after being turned could be very real.

Anyone can understand the below line spoken by Arthur? Especially the word "Barnett" was used. I read the RAW and I still do not know what a Barnett is. I cannot find any medieval weapons that is called "Barnett". However during the war of the roses, there is a battle of Barnet in 1471, with the year fit in Arthurs descriptions. (born in 15th century in Winchester) The war of roses ended in 1487.

The exact line spoken by Arthur:

Barnett て 深手 を 負 い, 古きものの きまぐれ に救われ た.
The way I translate is:
Critically Injured (from) losing (in a sword fight), saved by the whimsical old ones.
Hence:
In Barnet critically injured (from) losing (in a sword fight), saved by the whimsical old ones.

Can anyone confirm that my guess is correct (Barnet is a place and not a weapon)
It really looks like it means "Battle of Barnet", not some obscure medieval weapon.

Is it spelled バルネット, バーネット, something else?

No surprise that Al-kamil would want to go herself after Ghika's latest failure. We're probably approaching the endgame of their storyline.

Okay so which way is the story going here? Will Ichika actually kill Aria with the killing sword... or will Ichika end up being turned into a vampire herself to stay with Aria so she can make her happy? Because the whole "we had to die once before we could become a vampire" thing feels more like foreshadowing that something bad is going to happen to Ichika and Aria is gonna turn her to save her life.

I will go with "Something bad is going to happen to ichika, Aria turns her to save her life and they live happily forever after" route,

I love this, but as a fan of tragic endings might I propose this alternative: Ichika manages to kill Al-Kamil with the sacred sword but is mortally wounded in the process. Aria is hesitant to save her because of the risk and, even if the vampirification is successful, Ichika would be cursed to live forever. Ichika instead decides to stab Aria so, instead of living cursed lives together eternally, they die in each other's arms and can spend a more peaceful eternity together
