Is it, though? The other series honestly isn't too bad, but Arioto's incredibly imbalanced power dynamic makes me pretty damn uncomfortable. Someone as obsessively dominant as Aya would definitely be an abuser IRL

Also, people's appreciation of this seems 100% pegged to what they think of the Aya MC (and not much is pegged to Marika). I like Aya a lot, so I like this series a lot. My favourite aspect is that Marika obsesses on her hair but Aya still has better hair.

I do like how Marika snaps back at Aya though, because she usually has a point.

I bet the astarotte girl from before is gonna be the third wheel here. I'm seeing her being transferred to marika's school and being clingy to her since she knows where marika was before. Somehow I feel like Aya had a lover before but their relation didnt work out. I hope there won't be drama here

Slacked here basically since inception but yeah. Even "nuanced and reasonable" discussions of this are way past their expiration date. Would rather see that just not discussed at all from here on.

I mean, it's the most "hot button" topic to discuss with this series (and many others), so naturally that's what discussions will gravitate toward. It's like the FB algorithm that pushes controversial content not because of an agenda, but because it drives "engagement".
Plus, new readers may not have been around when the discussion was last had and naturally make a stab at it. Personally I've definitely said my piece on the matter and will, at most, refer to and link old posts when it arises again... and respond with snark (as above), unless told not to.

Also, what else is there really to discuss that's topical? The nature of heteronormativity? Hasn't that also been done to death? Whether or not and to what degree Aya is homophobic, inconsiderate/carelessly rude or just ignorant? Haven't we already had that one?
Being innovative is tough work.

All that said, I just reread the latest chapter (5) and enjoyed it tremendously. Gotta re-read the other chapters, too, I think I haven't seen the "full" versions of 3 and 4 yet. I hope they are now extra juicy.

Someone said they'd rather read Bloom into You than this, which reminded me, Bloom into You, A Room for Two, a bunch of great yuri manga are described in this series. One is called Yuri Cafe, which I do not think is the actual title. The only clue I have is that the MC "becomes a lesbian" in it, "just like that." Anyone know what this is? It's definitely not Chatting at the Amber Teahouse. The two MCs there are lesbians from day one. By the way, I think Aya should have shown Marika some non-pornographic lesbian films at first, as she did with the manga, which don't seem to have been hentai.

I agree with an earlier comment that Yukiko doing the light novel means it's easy to imagine a suddenly-not-as-lazy Kasumi (really, at first, she is a lot like Futaribeya's Kasumi) deciding to seduce a well-meaning popular, but innocently gay-slandering Sakurako. Not only wearing her down, but turning her from the tsun Sakurako to the dere one we all love. And after that, they move in together, and presto, Futaribeya, but spicier. Perhaps they have a fight, Marika is upset and mentions transferring schools. She doesn't look at Aya's text saying she won't have to. Ayas's transferring. At their new school, they each give false names. And then they find out who their new roommate is.

I couldn’t find where in the series Yuri Cafe was mentioned so I have no context, but the first one I thought of was this.

In fact, Marion Diabolito's post originally even mentioned that one by name in that question, but it seems to have been edited out now. It's apparently also the second result after Yuru Yuri when searching for yuri café on MAL, not exact title like this exists there indeed, although the manga database can be slow to add new entries.

There are, but the tl is getting delayed due to either or both of the following things: the scanlator team having irl concerns pressing them too much; they're delaying the tl a month each time someone complains. note: I'm not part of any scanlation team, since I don't know Japanese and I lack experience and/or means to de the non-tl bits of scanlating.
