It's not Chinese, so no, it doesn't mean that. I imagine Japanese readers who went through the trouble of deciphering this had as much fun as I did.

I put that in a machine translator and the “english” that popped out was just different kanji I’m so confused right now

oh damn, I just saw there were only Kanji in there and assumed it was Chinese.

Oh my god Kei is sending so many mixed messages right now, on one hand we can read this as Kei telling Yokoe to just be herself and stop being so self conscious about everything, but then she went and took off the hair pin and covered Yokoe’s right eye once again, which I think symbolizes Yokoe’s willingness to hope for something to change in their relationship, and to be more honest with her feelings.

Put another way, Kei is telling Yokoe to not change. Maybe I’m reading too much into this but the whole scene kinda reminds me of Bloom Into You when Touko would always tell Yuu not to change.

Yeah, I got the same vibe there. And the classic manga writing where one character knows something and is about to say it but decides not to really isn't helping.

What does Kei know? Has she always known, way back since they flipped hair lengths? Is Kei a friend-zoning monster, or is Yokoe a fuckboy? Is Yatsude really going to stand for this?

Or it's like you said in your first part and it could just be, in a roundabout way, Kei encouraging Yokoe to be herself to be more open and honest
