Well, the last page leaves an opening. Hayakawa is still attracted to Nakamukai.

On the condition that she doesn't love her

Is Mikanuji trying to be Kodama Naoko though?

Pretty nice, pretty nice

I'll admit though, coming to this from the other Theatre one shot that got uploaded today is certainly some whiplash

What did you expect from a collection titled "I don't want a happy ending"?

There's just... something about the dialogues that feels a little bit off. Is it the amount of exclamation marks? Some of the lines looks like it would look better with a different intonation to it.

Mikanuji does some pretty good warped characters.

Reminder to self: When saw this mangaka's, make sure it's not from < I don't want a happy ending. > before reading.

Also, the scripting is like force drama.

Meh, this was simply unpleasant.

Well, I was expecting a happy ending (like the previous work in the anthology) and not...this.

Okay Nanami Touko, whatever you say....

This kinda reads like an angst yagakimi au where Touko never got over her trauma (or met Yuu) and became twisted from pretending all the time.

It's weird--in another thread about a series involving a high-school performance (not theatre, but . .. .) someone was going on and on about how the story was like YagaKimi, when it really, really wasn't.

Then this comes along with, as someone suggested above, Nanami Touko as done by Kodama Naoko.

Nice try, but this part of YagaKimi is even animated already.

Felt rather meh to me. I didn't really get to know the senpai enough to care that she didn't reciprocate the feelings. Often with short stories like this, I desire to know what happens next. With this, I just didn't care.

I've just learned to ignore it. Every new generation of manga addicts liken new things to what was popular when they got into manga. In a similar fashion to the fellow you quoted, I could go on a rant about how Yuu and Touko are basically Yukino and Soichiro from his and her circumstances, or how My Hero Acadamia is basically Naruto with superheros instead of ninjas.

Anyone else feel old yet?

Wow, Hayakawa sure knows how to pick’em. Loners become best lovers... but the way she doesn’t want commitment makes the ‘ship quite toxic. This collection of one shots definitely doesn’t fit in with the vanilla yuri on this website.

It’s a pleasant break from the usual, but I wouldn’t read this all the time—too depressing.

I wouldn’t buy this collection, but I wouldn’t mind if the one shits were dispersed on one’s and two’s among other vanilla one-shots just to add variety—everything can’t be all rosy in a single manga collection of one-shots. (Oh, by the way, there are no typos here)

My thoughts exactly. A person with extremely low self-esteem and one with self-esteem so high, it hurts herself and her relationships -- that's some Kodama Naoko levels of messed-up.

Maybe Hayakawa is tired of people idolizing her all the time and she felt angry with Nakamukai to the point where she wanted to correct her behavior. But shit does happen in life like not truly knowing the person they like. Fortunately Nakamukai becomes better at acting thanks to her so it's not all bad
