Incredibly wholesome. I have a soft spot for Sayaka and Ena-san.
I went ahead and bought the kindle on amazon.co.jp
that ¥478 is worth supporting this author

also one thing that I really appreciate is the settings just start out with then just being casual lesbian friends nonchalantly discussing lesbian things

This is gold.
Also, this is definitely going for the poly rout

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda starving for more manga like this. Both poly and sex work deserve a lot of good material that it still lacks in comparison with other kinds of yuri. I love how wholesome and positive it is and I hope it stays like that.

“I love how wholesome and positive it is and I hope it stays like that.”

given that it’s an fictional representation of prostitution yeah, you could make it “wholesome”
unfortunatly I really don’t like how some people in real life are trying to make prostitution in any positive light when in reality ain’t any.

Well said^ regardless if there's no shady stuff going behind the scenes, most of the time there is, it still isn't all too great, as most sex workers are doing said type of work because they have no other options or thought they had no other options for money. Can't really see that being something positive.

Seriously, how can this manga be so cute, despite the story elements? xD

Rather depends on the specifics, as with most things.

Necessary reminder that "prostitution" isn't synonymous with "human trafficking" unlike a lot of people seem to think.

Ughh! I just can't love this manga enough! I love everything about it! Why can't we have more stories like this? It's so rare to see a "pay for gay" theme with no heavy drama or angst involved! So refreshing! Sexy, funny and just positive women enjoying sex. I mean look at it! Such exquisite love scenes and sensual dialogues! I can't stress how this is the kind of work that I'm looking for in sexy adult yuri stories in a long time. This work is unmistakably done by a woman and for women!

Imagine using this material for adult yuri anime à la Happy Go Lucky Days or a much proper yuri hentai like Sono Hanabira, except with adults! Ohh I can just die right now! Leave flowers at my grave, please!

"Most" is a lofty estimate to make. Tbh whenever I see videos about "a day in the life of a porn star" or "ask a stripper" or "interview with an escort" 9/10 times their biggest issue is how everyone else treats them. Many seem happy in their line of work, and those who aren't have very industry-specific reasons for feeling that way. Reasons which aren't inherent to selling sex. Are there issues with prostitution? Yes, there are a distressing number of women who're forced into it by a person or by circumstances. But "many" and "most" are different things, and I'd honestly say that claiming "most" is a little embellishing unless you've personally met a decent number of escorts and have asked how many of them were forced into it. Idk why the notion that some people just don't care and are happy to sell their body is such a wild idea.

High pay, flexible hours. Pretty positive compared to being a minimum wage retail worker.

most sex workers are doing said type of work because they have no other options or thought they had no other options for money.

That's not what studies find. Prostitution is legal in Australia and New Zealand so it's easy to just go ask people. Most of them are doing it for money, sure, just like the rest of us work for money. Doesn't mean it's their only option. If you don't get hung up on "oh no, sex with strangers, so horrible", $200/hour is nice money. Not that you're getting paid every hour but you can study while you wait, and pick hours compatible with classes or child care or whatnot.

With most I was refering to the problem where sexwork is being pushed into this postive light, that teens soon as turn 18 start up onlyfans thus becoming sexworkers because they're blinded by money (thinking they have no other options), not doing it for like actual benefit like real sexworkers, I should of said that. But yeah aside from there's also the problem with how they're treated, I'm not trying to shame anyone that does any variant of sexwork, I just wish they were respected better in their line of work by those around them. And I didn't say some didn't care and are just happy to do it, as I'm not talking about them.

The gist of this manga is that she's accumulating experience before "doing it" with her childhood friend (and they live happily forever after).

This manga is skillfully avoiding the reality of prostitution. I guess it's fair, since it's not a manga about it.

It's getting really goddamn tiresome, so I'll go ahead and post rule 10 in this thread for anyone else who feels like sharing their view on prostitution:

Tags are meant to inform users so that they may interact with works that appeal to them, and avoid those which do not. If your comment on a given work could be summed up as a comment on the tag itself, please avoid making the comment.

You might want to read this post. Some interesting titbits from that comment pertaining to the study made in Queensland:

More sex workers had college degrees than the average Australian.
They had lower rates of STDs than others
Street workers tended to be paying for drugs (75%) but few of others (2% brothel, 8.5% escorts) [An important note here that the original poster neglected to make: street workers accounted for only 2% of all sex workers in Queensland.]

"half of the prostitute sample earned on average as much as the highest earning two per cent of the Australian
population, or as much as the highest earning 0.4 per cent of females in Australia. Over three-quarters of the prostitutes earned as much as the highest earning 9 per cent of Australians"

"Many prostitutes will leave the sex industry if they cannot earn at least twice the salary they would earn in "straight"
employment because they have a value on what it is worth to work as a prostitute"

Prostitution has many problems, but most of the darkest stereotypes are applicable primarily in countries where sex work is illegal. By contrast, in places where it is legal (such as the Australian example above), most of these negative stereotypes seem to apply primarily to street workers, who comprise a tiny percentage of the overall profession in these countries.

^That's actually really nice to see, thank you for sharing and btw to the dude above I got nothing against prostitution, or else I wouldn't be reading this, I love that this is wholesome. It's just what the original poster said had coincided with some of the stuff I was reading about at the time.

For an interesting take on the topic of legalized prostitution including reasons for choosing to work as a sex worker, the impact on relationships, and entrenched bias in society, see Harper Bliss' "Pink Bean Series" volumes 7-9.

If you are interested in a summary of the novels, see the spoilers:
Volume 7, "Love Without Limits", only briefly touches on the sex trade, introducing one character who is a sex worker and another who frequently uses escort services. Volume 8 focuses on the character who frequently uses escort services during a particularly trying time in her life. Complicating matters, the escort service has to send a replacement escort because her "usual" escort has retired. The story delves into the different ways escorts can help people with personal problems they don't feel comfortable exposing to co-workers and friends but need help dealing with none the less. (One might think this is what therapists are for, but hey, they cost about the same and one probably leads to considerably less drug use... and it's not the prostitute!) It also deals with the concept of falling in love with your client, which is an age-old trope, but then deals with how one goes about dating a FORMER client when they no longer purchase your services but you are continuing to work as a sex worker because you have goals and don't want to take a hand-out from your new girlfriend in order to achieve them. Volume 9 deals with life as a retired sex worker and dealing with bias against the sex trade in both interpersonal relationships and business relationships. The novels are set in Australia. They are part of a series, but reading the previous books in the series is not usually necessary to enjoy each volume. The main character of a volume is frequently introduced in a prior volume of the series, though, so it's not a bad idea to read them all... and they're quite good. In particular, Volume 7 might be easier to understand if one reads an earlier volume in the series, Volume 3: "Everything Between Us" which is the story of how the two main characters in Volume 7 start their relationship, while Volume 7 is the story of how they continue on in their relationship and begin to open the relationship up while maintaining their commitment to each other. It's probably one of the more controversial of the novels in the series. (One of the characters is a firm "non-monogamist", which doesn't mean she cheats. There is this thing called consent. But she does have a history of not having relationships last. I found it interesting that Ms. Bliss chose to never use the term "polyamory" in her writing, but after reading two volumes of novels about the character, I understand that it is not the correct term. The character doesn't fall in love with multiple people, she merely believes that sex is something that can be enjoyed independent of romantic love and it is unhealthy to stifle those types of feelings. One might say that she probably had not felt real romantic love for anyone prior to meeting the other main character in these novels. Not particularly something I understand, but it is different from polyamory as I understand it as well.

The fact that sex work is, for an overwhelming majority, geared toward fulfilling men pleasure, is telling about the power balance in this kind of "transaction". A sex worker, in the eyes of almost all those who buy their "service", even where it's legal, is not really a person. Their whole being have become a commodity.

I don't judge, but I can't fathom the reasons someone does that kind of job. I don't believe the bullshit of people who say it's just like any other job. In my opinion, our body isn't something that can be sold.

As for this manga, it's fiction. They are all happy hookers, living in a fantasy world where women can buy sex with women like it's something anyone would do if they have the chance, so I don't find it offensive.

It's just that the concept to fuck a lot of prostitutes in search of your childhood friend is one weird premise. But hey, it's Japan.

I wish people would stop making judgmental statements about prostitution if they don't know the first thing about it. Especially if they didn't even bother reading the conclusions of official studies and scientific surveys on the business.

Throbelisk was right in quoting rule 10:

Tags are meant to inform users so that they may interact with works that appeal to them, and avoid those which do not. If your comment on a given work could be summed up as a comment on the tag itself, please avoid making the comment.

Sorry, I reject that interpretation of Rule 10. The spirit of the rule is to avoid "Tag x is bad" / "Tax x doesn't appeal to me" comments that inevitably devolve into bad conversation. In this month, I counted one - extremely innocuous, I might add - comment of that nature in this thread, and it's been removed. I count two other negative comments pertaining to the real-world implications of the tag, neither of which were made in a vacuum. The rule is not intended to stifle discussion, and in this case the discussion is informative and fruitful enough that there's not much room for moderation.

You know what I just realized?

Last chapter is a good example of this meme: two bottoms wanting to have sex!

And it also is a shining example of why this meme is such bullshit. Sure it may be a fun joke, but in reality there's no tragedy in being a bottom and going to bed with another bottom : it just works like for Ena and Asumi.

Sources?

Because I think you can find "official studies and scientific surveys" that go both ways, or a little more nuanced than "prostitution good" or "prostitution bad".

Sure, brothels can be a plus for sex workers, because they get more security and health checks. That still doesn't make street prostitution disappear. It makes it "invisible".

Some people affect to think that if there's a legal way to practice it and some people are willing, then everything is fine. "move along, there's nothing to see here".

Meanwhile, immigrant women and kids are sold in some back-alleys. You can hammer that it's illegal, but then, brothels enabled that way of thinking: bodies can be bought and sold.

I don't judge the workers themselves, or those who are doing it willingly. I judge people making money of the more shady parts and of exploitation.

Are brothels a good thing? On some aspects, probably yes. In some others most probably not.

Word. Sex is fluid, all sorts of dynamics exist, it all just matters how much compatibility and chemistry you have, and those two had it. Such a great chapter.
