@drpepperfan I didnt say it didnt look like her canonically- just it doesn't look like her- to me. How I am used to seeing her drawn most of the time.

They may vary but I still think most of the time in the zun works and other doujins you can recognise them by their face, and hairstyle, even if the art style changes- but in this picture, because they have swapped clothes or hair, and the faces are not how I mostly see them drawn, I can no longer say for sure which is which character.

Is that a blonde Reimu or Marisa dressed as her? If it IS blonde Reimu, then that makes more sense- the blonde looks more like her now I look again, but then i'd say Marisa doesn't look like herself much.

Even if the characters are drawn with differences in different works and pictures, we all still build our own internal model of them and what we imagine them to look like, that I guess is some kinda amalgam of the various styles we have seen, and it will vary from person to person depending which artists they've read most and/or most recently.

^I'm sorry but what. That's very clearly based on "Rococo" fashions from the mid to late 1700s, so not even remotely either "Medieval" or even less "WW2" jeez.

Think Dangerous Liaisons and Rose of Versailles. Probably gets mined so intensely mostly because it's the style period that doesn't look either completely ass or stuffy as shit to modern eyes.

Yes, this is so cute!

This artist’s Gudako/Melt art always has such so many complex energies to it. Gudako looking cute in that clean-cut suit, and Melt in her dress with that snake-eyed (but soft) ikemen-looking smile. It’s got that knight and princess vibe to it, but distributed between the two of them. It feels very queer. I love it.

I miss this series.
