I love the possessive look blondie's giving to us viewers - it's like she's saying "She's mine! Scram!"

It's a great image :) Though I do profer it when the subjects are not looking at the viewer- it breaks immersion.

^I'm sorry but what. That's very clearly based on "Rococo" fashions from the mid to late 1700s, so not even remotely either "Medieval" or even less "WW2" jeez.

Think Dangerous Liaisons and Rose of Versailles. Probably gets mined so intensely mostly because it's the style period that doesn't look either completely ass or stuffy as shit to modern eyes.

Lucky-ass history buffs. I wish I could argue about time periods like that

tbh i imagine claire and rei looking more like these two

ps it doesn’t take a “history buff” to realize that their outfits aren’t medieval nor from ww2 ಠ_ಠ

^No idea if its a real uniform- but it does remind me of the sort they wore in the napoleonic wars.

^it's not, but it seems to be loosely based on the gaudy uniforms of the period. More specifically the transverse braiding characteristic of the infamously flamboyant hussar uniforms, though the artist seems to be unclear on the details and has made them buttoned flaps instead. Compare the (for the day) understated Húsares de la Muerte uniform (Chile, late 1810s).

Minus points for not showing off Dat Ass with the very tight-fitting breeches nigh-ubiquitous in the uniforms of "true" cavalry (as opposed to dragoons who were technically mounted infantry) those days. :P

At first glance, I somehow was expecting them to be Finé and Izetta. I don't know why?
