Sometimes I wish for it too, but they don't want to spoil every story before you read it. "Drama" and "Angst" are usually the best tells that the ending -could- be bad.

It kind of felt like the main character was asexual.

Her thoughts about sex in general, and how she didn't seem to lust after her friend much either felt like she just didn't have much interest to that. This then made her somewhat lethargic, despite realizing she did like her friend, and so she wasn't motivated enough to act in time. Asking someone out often has a lot to do with the timing and not just compatibility, after all.

i didn't find it that hurtful... i don't know, the other woman wasn't into women herself so mc could have just moved on and find another girl to love like her "fake girlfriend" did when she thought a new guy. i would have find it more difficult if the two women where actually in love and even the guy MC is dating isn't even a bad guy and yes, by the end MC wasn't happy but you can still imagine that she fell in love with another woman later and got a divorce. if she doesn't stay stuck on mayuko. nothing is set in stone and this is not because she failed with just ONE woman that she have to accept that as a fatality or a fact that it will always end up this way.

Damnit I knew I should have skipped this one. There has been a disturbing trend toward the depressing endings on the site lately

This gives me circa 1990's vibe. And not just the design or anything but the setting and the conflict where the characters are living their lives as well. It's a painful reminder that there are parts of the world still stuck in that era.
