At least for part of that time the author was writing the Bloom Into You side-story novels

He also wrote the manga adaptations, including the currently ongoing one.

For a moment I thought that the new employeee of the Chinese restaurant was Tarumin but there is no way Adachi would have forgot how she look like. We finally get the Shima's pov of the call, she simply didn't understand anything of the long monologue and didn't had the courage to ask Adachi to repeat. Why did I feel like Tarumi try to influenced Shima to go to the same college as her ? Also the "the only souvenir I need is you come back" is so cheesy. And i know too well about old dogs. Had one not so long ago,a labrador, seeing him limping and not being able to walk up stairs was a bit painful.

Ten years old really doesn't seem old enough for a dog to be as in bad a shape as this one is made out to be.

Pretty sure she did recognise her, "Hmm? Could it be? It kinda felt if were I to speak out my suspicions here, that might give life to a whole different story" she just lied cause she doesn't wanna talk to her, especially if it involves going into that whole mess. I am not sure if Adachi even got a good look at Tarumi to know for certain, Tarumi has also met Adachi outside of the pet store.

I'm so curious to see how Shimamura reacts to Adachi's now-inevitable confession. We're painting such an interesting picture here with all of her aimlessness and the difficulty she has feeling things or connecting to people strongly and the quiet anxiety she has about all of that. Her mixture of confusion and trepidation thinking about Adachi's big blowup was really fascinating.

On the other hand shima's in top "flirting without realizing she's flirting" form. Is it mean of me that I kinda want shima's mom to discover that her daughter has her friend's sexy selfies on her phone? I just need someone to call her out on this stuff!

Their phone call scene was very cute and Shimamura's making Adachi fall for her even harder, it's almost a sin. I know that the confession we've been waiting for is very near so I'm really looking forward to it! Reading that after staying at home for more than a month will be the best reward.

I was expecting to see a bit more commentary because it looks like we're moving out of the slow burn, one-sided stage. I don't think Shima's ready to announce anything yet, but she's aware of her mind drifting toward Adachi -- and the swimsuit call!

Really liked the new chapters, kinda wished since Adachi finally confessed for her own sake, that she‘d start thinking about Shimamura more in the context of love, but it was fine. Also we got a small glimpse of how Shimamura perceived the phone call, which was already assumed before, but apparently she really only understood the least because of sobbing Adachi. I can‘t wait for the festival chapter~
