I glanced at the title and for a moment I thought it was the sequel to this. But I guess I should probably give up on that by now.

Oh god I wish.

If it's by her, I'm willing to read a comic about watching grass grow.

That's rather extreme. I wouldn't read such thing even if it's bymyfavorite author.

Even if Crabgrass-tan had a crush on Zoysia-tan?

And watching that inspired the MC to write her first yuri doujin?

never underestimate the power of yurimorphization!

She responded on Twitter that she intended to continue when i messaged her. I think the last time we've "heard" from her was in the outing with morishima, amano and aoki to a strip club.

sadly i think other topics sold better for her, though. My guess is roomie was wearing down newbie by the time it halted.

Cute, but isn't Inue Ayu breaking some unwriten manga artist rule to never depict themselves accurately in their manga. Manga writers seem to always depict themselves as characters like cats or bunnies, or at least as caricatures, in their afterwards.

It is always nice to learn that a yuri writer is a yuri girl herself. Not just a straight girl writing yuri just for the pay check, or worse yet, a guy.

We know a lot are female, and actually Morishima Akiko wrote an autobiographical manga about her problems with ADHD if I remember correctly. Somehow everyone missed that it exists, probably because we only pay attention to her yuri works.

That said, I'm not going to knock anything by Akihito Yoshitomi even if he's a guy.

She actually has a cute autobiographical one shot on this site. It's about her and a few of the other yuri manga artist going to a strip club.

I'm don't think men are actually bad at yuri. I just feel all of their characters are second hand interpretations of lesbians. I know this is a bit unfair, but as a straight cis man I know it's true.

Well, considering a lot of BL stories are written by women (and some really good ones, even), I wouldn't say it's impossible for a cis guy to write good yuri, even without first hand experience. The problem is finding a guy that can write about les/bi women without resorting to stereotypes.

Actually I agree. It's hard to put it in words, but there is definitely a different feel to actually yuri by yuri as opposed to the second hand version. I think there are a lot of nuances, especially in realistic stories, that are really handled better by people with experience... And a lot of times they draw more varied women.

I guess I just wanted to defend the men who manage to actually seem to get it? There are definitely plenty of bad yuri stories written by people who don't know what they're writing about. Perhaps I'm just sensitive as a cis man myself.

This is so cute and relatable! I think it's pretty rare and generous for mangaka to share stories about their own lives. Her manga are always so full of a sense of joy and now we can see where that comes from. It must a lot of courage (and also self-restraint) to write a manga about this.

I usually imagine (based on stereotypes and their afterwords) manga artists to be very reserved, but then I saw that story of a group of popular yuri mangaka going to a strip club together and it was totally different and hilarious.

Is it weird that I wanna read that?

Did tamamusi just reveal her real name? Because man this looked like cheerful amnesia.

Do you need glasses or something? Because the style isn't even close.

Man, the real act of kindness from her girlfriend is letting her publish this. I would be WAY too embarrassed to let my significant other publish an entire manga basically about me.

If I were Inui Ayu I would worry that the manga might end up causing friction between her and her girlfriend. After all she is publishing private moments for the world to see.

I'm not into BL, but strangly enough if I were to read it, I would read a woman writer. It would give me a glimpse into how women see men. Plus I think women write BL for the same reason I read yuri, A connection to a world we want to know but can't ever really understand.

Yeah well then it's the same things for mens writing yuris. Why womens can write BL and nobody bat an eye but if a man write a yuri, it's not ok ? It's contradictory.

I guess each person has their reasons. I dabble in both GL and BL fiction, myself, but it's not like I want to have a connection to the reality of gay men, it's just that I like love stories, really, and I enjoy exploring several possibilities. Besides, I'd say most people tend to prefer love stories that match their orientation (like how I read and write mostly gay stories, but my mother and sister always prefer straight romances).

But I get what you say about wanting to read stuff that we can't experience, because that's maybe the very reason why fiction exists. Even if you're a gay girl, the stories in yuri may have some small similarities to our experiences, but a lot of it is original. None of us will ever be in the exact same situation as, say, Yuu or Touko, but we still enjoyed reading YagaKimi. It's not too far off if you're a guy reading yuri or a gal reading BL.

It would give me a glimpse into how women see men.

Because 80% of the time, men who write yuri/GL fill the story with stereotypes and fetishes they get from lesbian porn. But if a guy does write good lesbian romance stories, I don't think most people would mind that.

It probably says something about me that I didn't understand why she thought making tea would be so much more work than making another serving of coffee. Then again, my mind immediately jumped to loose leaf tea and either French press or pour over coffee and all of those basically have you heating up some water and measuring out a portion of leaves or coffee.

Really? Do you know the name? I have ADD myself and I'm always interested in hearing how other people handle it and how it effects them.

Well I obviously already have a good idea how men see women. Look bottom line I'm interested in women not men. That is why I read lesbian stories not straight ones. But hey to each their own. I not saying men can't write good yuri. I just saying all things considered, I would rather read the story written by an actual lesbian.

Yeah we have secret meetings in the school gym every other Tuesday. The next meeting will be about those stupid jewelry commercials making us feel like we need to spend our life savings to keep our women happy. It's my turn to bring the snacks.
