Oh wow, I would've thought the age distribution would be centered at a younger age, with more teens. Guess I'm quite young compared to most, haha.

So can we get a breakdown of gay men and lesbian women? Or is it there and I am just a stupid lesbian who doesn't know cis, binary and LGBTQ Hetero terms?

I picked drPepperfan in forums for his helpfulness there and name recognition.

There are binary (male/female) and non-binary gender identities.

LGBTQ Hetero refers to straight trans and non-binary folks.

I stared at those age charts for 10 minutes and I still don't know how you figured that out. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding it personally.

I assume I'm one of that group though.

I mean, I just looked at the graph. I'm 40, so there aren't a lot of people at or over my age compared to the bulk of those down in the teens and twenties.

39 myself, so yeah, we're the ancients here... :D

The results of this survey surprised me, but it does explain why I like these forums. Seems that we have a healthy balance of genders and identities for such a site.

For a long time I have exclusively used dynasty for almost all my manga. This explains why. This community is great. Thanks guys.

Also, this site is a lot older than I thought. But that is probably another reason why it's so pleasant. I thought I was old for this site but seeing that 30+ group? Wow. I had assumed most anime/manga sites would have a high teen population.

I think it would also be interesting to have a section of what type of stories each gender frequents more. I've definitely seen a big difference in genders in different types of stories.
For example, romance and drama centered has more female readers. Something like wdtfs.

It'd be a lot of work but you should consider doing it like once a year or so. The main forum I frequent does something similar every year and it's pretty interesting to see how the demographics change over time.

I thought the age curve was much younger than I expected; I wonder if there's a bias from who uses Discord (or who bothers looking at the forums, which I didn't until recently.)
