"I’m thrilled Fragtime will become an anime! I get really excited when I think of the girls’ story being spun in a totally new form. Just by getting to know the amazing staff who will adapt the manga, I have no doubt the anime will be wonderful!"

Awesome.

There are currently no other details, no studio, release date, or length. But awesome.

Looking forward to its release. Has this been licensed across the pond? I'd like to know more details on studio and director.

fragtime is boring, why would they pick that

Kinda opens the floodgates for what can get an anime, considering this ended five years ago.
I'll bet someone on /u/ is gonna start begging for that Girlfriends adaptation.

is there even enough content for a 12 episodes anime?

with 18 chapters, id say theres just the right amount for a 12 episode anime. at the very least, theres a good chance that the anime will actually be complete instead of ending on a cliffhanger and then never getting a season 2.

Plus since the theme is literally about stopping time, they can manipulate time to their liking to get it into a nice 12 ep format.

I mean it's kind of an unusual pick, why this and not Girlfriends? or any of the popular currently running manga like Sekai de Oppai or Hanigare? anyway, it's not like we get to decide I'm not even complaining more yuri is always welcome :D

LOL- how in any world is it 'boring'? It's about stopping time- has 2 quite unusual mains with their own hangups, has a bit of pervy stuff, has a lot of tension and a nice romance, and is pretty unique.

How is it boring compared to say a bog standard slice of life anime with not a SINGLE unique feature or character? And we get several anime like that every season.

I for one am happy to hear this got picked up :) I think they will have to expand and add some content to make 11 or 12 eps, but that's good- will be more fun to watch it as long as they dont mess it up.

I hope it has a better ending than the manga, but even so, more yuri is good

It would be great to see stories like Unchanging Days and Lonely Wolf Lonely Sheep get adapted, but they may be too short for a full season (definitely OVA worthy imo)

Nowhere near. Almost certainly not a TV anime

Hey now, don't forget how K-On transfomed from a mediocre manga to a good anime. Though i doubt it will be like that this time, but it's yuri so it's good.

Why not Canno's kiss and a white lily tho? Nonetheless it is Yuri so I'm gonna watch it.

Hopefully it's not terrible 5 minute shorts or an ova.
I just really want a decent full blown yuri anime without shit-tier animation, heck I would even fund one.

Is this real? The best old manga can also get revived? We live in a golden age

Man, I hope they don't cut out some things like it sometimes happens with adaptations. I re-read the manga after the announcement was made and it really makes me think that this will be a hit or miss anime, but even so, I'm all for new yuri anime!

Oh man I completely forgot about this series, I remember loving it though. I might give it another read to refresh my memory before seeing this. Also, is it safe to say that the popularity of Bloom Into You is what caused this?

We got NTR 2 years ago, Citrus last year and this year we already got Bloom Into You and WataTen, so I'd say the fact we get less popular work now is actually pretty good (well not clue how popular it actually was). And anyway, I really liked the story, so I'm glad it's getting adapted. I think movie or 2 episode 30 minutes OVA could work just fine.

God I hated that girl with the long hair. Cool concept, but wasted on such an awful story. Anime adaptors sure pick the worst ones to adapt. Except for “Bloom into You” of course, that manga is good.

Time stop shenanigans are pretty fun. I remember reading it several years ago, and I thought it was okay. The whole not-showing-your-true-face theme is kind of reminiscent of YagaKimi, in a way.

A good adaptation pace seems to be typically 2 or 3 chapters per episode (depending on chapter length). For comparison, in 3-gatsu no Lion (a fairly faithful adaptation that conveniently gives the episode parts the same names as their corresponding chapters), the first 12 episodes cover 25 chapters, or 2 1/3 volumes. 3-gatsu no Lion is published in Young Animal, a semi-monthly manga, where the chapters are typically 15~17 pages.

So there's probably enough for 12 episodes? Fragtime chapters seem to be typically ~24 pages.

I'm pretty much happy for any yuri to be made into an anime that isn't Citrus or YuruYuri.
