Comic ExE is a hentai magazine, 99% full of regular straight hentai, but at the end of the magazine is a yuri section that is generally non-H.

Yeah, I can see now why there is pessimism about the odds of survival. I can also see why they are splitting up the content since there isn't much audience overlap between strait porn and cutesy yuri love stories. It's a shame when talented artists get shafted by incompetent publishers.

A SECRET JUST BETWEEN YOU AND I

I had a feeling it was correct to say "between you and me", and the first Google result for this query says so as well:

Or maybe the editor of comic ExE is a yurifag and wants to help those yuri artist by creating a special yuri section for them, hmm? Anyway they done a great job so far. They even published two yuri anthologies: Avalon and Avalon ~bitter~. And their work will be contiuned online.

True, perhaps I was a bit harsh in my pessimism. It's wrong to call people incompetent for something they haven't failed at yet. You must admit though that it does seem like a very odd choice from a production stand point to splice cutesy yuri stories onto the end of a het porn magazine.

Having said this, I wish them all the best of luck. I hope they prove us pessimists wrong.

Lol, I think this could be better with character development and not just fanservice? But I guess it's fine it's just going for fan service :)

These are very short chapters that are currently being printed in a strait hentai magazine which is probably why each chapter always ends with some light fanservice and doesn't leave a ton of room for exposition or character development. People have been saying that the cute romantic yuri portion of this magazine is splitting off to become its own publication which may mean this series will have more room for story line in the future assuming the project doesn't get the ax.

Seems a bit odd honestly, why stick the Yuri into a Straight Hentai magazine, instead of say, a magazine that focuses on Romance, Shoujo or the like, since more crossover is likely to happen there.

And, they'd probably have an easier time, telling if the readers they have want to have a magazine focused on Yuri more easily.

But then again, not a Japanese business person, so who knows.

Anyway, cute chapter, as usual.

It's not that odd. I saw other hentai magazines with something similar. A corner with SFW manga at the back of the magazine. They were not even het romances, but silly 4-koma comedies or SOL.

Regardless of the status of ExE's yuri section, this manga hasn't appeared in the last 2 issues, so I'm somewhat worried in general about it.

What is the word most searched for in porn sites everywhere? You guessed it, "lesbian". Straight guys seem to have a fetish with us (ugh, leave us alone people).

On the other hand, straight romance is aimed mostly at straight girls, and the majority of straight girls don't like lesbian stuff. And considering the homophobic world we live in, having yuri in straight women magazines could even affect sales negatively.

Upon rereading chapter 5, I once more notice the detail on the scarf. It's insane how the structure and surface is depicted. It's actually kind of distracting, especially on pages 4 and 6

I'm just praying that if it does get split off it won't get the axe.... Maybe I should donate my whole life worth to the yuri cause.

A SECRET JUST BETWEEN YOU AND I

Incorrect my good man. "You and Me" is the object in this title. The subject was left off, but the object is always "me" over "I." (the full sentence would be something like "This is a Secret Just Between You and Me.") (the Just placement could be up for debate though.)

It was still odd to have yuri in the magazine since it wasn't being highly fetishized, though (the way lesbian scenes are when they show up in the rest of ExE). It's a little hard to compare since the ExE stories aren't marked on Dynasty, but while this work is super fluffy and stereotypical, alongside it there's the works by match (super bizarre even in a yuri section) and the different works Bunny Love released. They probably fit the marxist definition for fetizished commodities though >_>

My guess is that because yuri and girls love readers across the board are split fairly evenly between lesbian women and straight men, ExE figured they could play to their audience of straight men. I mean, that's what would've made it viable at least. It really could've just been a ploy to get more yuri out into the world by some random employee or two at the publisher. Or it was just an experiment to test if people were interested.

That's also why there wouldn't be so much crossover in a shoujo or other romance magazine, neither of the two big yuri demographics are present. The only exception being MOTHER FUCKIN' COMIC RAKUEN, best romance magazine around! "Bring us your romance, your angst and your drama, het or yuri," they say!

Still no official word on a continuation to this series, but things look good! We should know next month. Well, that is if they release chapter 6, it should happen next month.
