I read that line where Fumiko Fumi's like "You're just like characters from one of my manga" and I thought "lmao, I guess, a little bit"

And then I proceeded to read the rest of the afterword, and I couldn't think of anything except "Oh no, these people are just like characters from a Fumiko Fumi manga." The fact that they apparently ended up breaking up anyway, shortly after the book was released, is... Still depressing, even if I could kinda see it coming. Especially when you take into account that all that happened in less than a year.

Dynasty's staff (the people doing the tagging) should actually be fairly reliable on that end (having at least one mod that's trans should be helpful in that sense too). There're also a fair amount of transpersons who are active on the forums so any misplaced tags should be spotted quickly.

Very interesting that the manga was a bit of a lame autobiography with a straightforward romance, and the afterward was a sad unrequited love story that Fumiko Fumi could have written. Kaoru's reality ended up being more tragic and beautiful than his fantasy.

That afterword was such a rollercoaster. I almost cant believe it was put in, but I'm glad it was because it just felt so real and showed all the bad parts of the relationship compared to the drawn sections which were all the good parts.

Dang I'm thinking the same too, people don't tend to change like that even when everybody is telling them their way of doing things is wrong.

I hope we are wrong.

So, are they still together or not? Not that I care, but I'm confused by the comments here.

I heard they broke up. I can only see from Ooshima's side but Michelle seems like an awful person. Was Ooshima trying to justify her actions with those 'dramatic' past scenes. If the afterword is true then this whole book is kinda meaningless and fake. But I still like her straightforwardness

Being a compulsive masturbator, a cross-dresser and an ex-pornstar doesn't make you someone to look up to.

I feel like there's a lot more to Kaoru that the manga doesn't show. You have to be really hard working and dedicated to get to the top of any industry. He even left the porn industry and made it as an author so he probably has really good business sense. The manga probably just showcases him as shallow because autobiographies about hard life don't sell and it's easier to grab an audience who normally won't be into reading about girlyboys with a comedy.

He was the 1st crossdresser without any "changes" like estrogen or operations , that's what made him popular in the industry. He scalated quickly on the top porn company and made sweet sweet money until he decided to quit with the job.

Im still thinking tho... if he wasnt send to japan and stayed in brazil maybe he would have know how to properly masturbate and never crossdress. Maybe staying as a man and making a family at this point.
Im from south america and me and all the people i meet at the age of 6 knew what sex was but didn't care that much about it , now it is common for girls to get pregnant at age 12 or at least had sex at that age. While in Japan often they don't know much about the stuff and end up doing weird stuff like oshiima putting Battiers on his butt.Still glad nothing bad happend to him when meeting old men at young age and managed to succed in life (more or less)

Too bad, but I had a hunch that'd happen in the end.

They are still the prettiest boys I've ever seen, can someone share michelle's filmography? haha

Damn! that was one hella of a read..not even kodama naoko could compete with this one haha
jokes aside, so michelle in the end returned to that old guy?! wtf michelle you'd leave someone that loves you this much for some old guy! even though kaoru gave you another chance! welp, i guess they just weren't meant for eachother. still had fun reading this one even though it kinda felt pointless in the end.

EDIT: lol fuck it i'm really having thoughts like that old guy is actually a dangerous person who's threatening michelle and forcing her to stay with him because he's a sick pervert(kaoru did mention that he's apparently sexually pursuing after her). it just doesn't make sense why some old guy appears out of nowhere, and she wants to live together with him instead of her lover? and not only that, she'd kiss him while she's in a relationship and let him stay over in an apartment in his name? and in the end she'd leave her lover like that just to continue living with the suspicious old guy. now if she really loves him she wouldn't even bother going out with kaoru in the first place and have all those romantic scenes we just read in this manga. i might be overthinking it (since i'm bored af) but this really doesn't make sense to me. this dangerous shit does actually happen in real life.

He was the 1st crossdresser without any "changes" like estrogen or operations , that's what made him popular in the industry. He scalated quickly on the top porn company and made sweet sweet money until he decided to quit with the job.

I agree that being unique gave Kaoru's career a boost, but the only we reason why we know about this unique fact (that he doesn't take estrogen) is because someone (Kaoru, his management team if he has one, or his company) made this part of Kaoru's brand. Part of business sense is knowing how to brand yourself.

Kaoru's decision to transition from gay porn to straight porn was a business move. Professionals don't switch their filming genres without considering the impact it would have on their careers, especially from a genre that's typically more profitable for male actors like gay porn. Perhaps Kaoru assumed (correctly) that the switch would raise his profile.

That he was able to later transition from niche TV (porn) into more mainstream TV instead of retiring is no small feat either. Overall, porn is an industry with a high overturn rate. Many professionals reach the end of their careers by their mid to late 20s. Some of them start businesses and branch out into other media careers after the porn industry, but not all of them have staying power. While it remains to be seen how long Kaoru's profile will last, that he's able to find a publisher to distribute a niche-genre manga is good news. It means that a publisher believes he has a decent sized fanbase and that they can be monetized (aka interested or loyal enough to buy his work).

Many people have pretty faces and unique factors in the entertainment industry, but whether they endure for as long as Kaoru has depends on how well they market themselves.

The way I see it, Kaoru's love for Michelle was too heavy for her.

As someone with a fear of abandonment, she preferred to abandon first and get with someone (the sugar daddy) who probably didn't pretend to love her, but was actually mainly interested in her sexually. It was more her comfort zone to not have expectations.

From Kaoru's side of the story, he made a lot of efforts to make their relationship work, but ultimately, Michelle ran away. Happens to a lot of people. A relationship has staying power only if everyone works at it equally.

All in all, it's a slice of life of two otokonoko and nothing much more.

Still thinking that the mother is the real MVP.

But Kaoru says she made expressions she never made for Kaoru and Michelle was trying to two-time them. Maybe the old man is really handsome and a good person we don't know. Or Kaoru is not objective about the subject because afterword clearly says Michelle is a terrible person but I am very nice so I forgave her. Mom is great maybe Kaoru can try to hook up with her
