Don't spoiiil.. Ahem, 8 chapters doesn't seem like it's enough. Chapters 3 was cute, can't wait for the rest, thanks Stan!

That developement was nice. Smooth. That wine part though, what a freak out! Looked like she had been poisoned
Also I think the blushing tag would be appropriate for chapter 3. A lot of blood flow this chapter ;)

Very nice. I like the pacing. It feels like reading The Adventures of TinTin comics, which is really a plus point.

Wow, that was surprisingly hot given the cartoony anatomy. Why is this so fucking good? Needs an anime, stat.

Loved this chapter. Alice's blushing and body language around Marie was insanely adorable.

Ahh, Alicia Belmont. My favorite member of the Belmont clan in Castlevania...

What's with the wine glass? Just a "she's not used to drinking so the taste surprises her" thing?

This is really good. And there's yuri. Perfect.

Huh. I was surprised to see that Marie is taller than Alice. There hasn't been a good comparative shot of their heights up until now, and all this time I was under the impression it was the other way around.

Also, excellent foreshadowing.

This is impressively good, and an interesting dynamic for a detective story.

I can't help but see the characters as Animal Crossing characters, though.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I was also surprised that the story with cutesy Animal Crossing-esque character designs went s̶t̶r̶a̶i̶g̶h̶t for a sex scene three chapters in.

Of course, what kind of detective story doesn't have a sex scene between the investigator and the mysterious femme fatale, regardless of the style? I'm so glad they went for that

True dat.

I really dig the art style, as was said it feels very Animal Crossing. I'm eagerly awaiting more! Thank you very much for your work Stan et al!

By that trope she's going to be tragically murdered or at least disappear at the end though.

I want to see a yuri manga narrated by Max Payne now.

Anyway, I rather like the amount of effort put into the appropriately Bond-esque Techno Babble. Plus those surnames make me giggle a little in a good way.

This got real intense real fast.

And the missiles of death are just so cute and polite.

I'm still trying to work out if this is some bizarro Animal Crossing Doujin or not. Very well done with the world building though. Birds as drug-smuggling reprobates makes way too much sense for anyone who's ever had to work with the nasty little dinosaurs.

Also kids, always wear your seatbelts, especially in a death chase. Not everybody is gonna have polite chompy missiles to shoot at you.

Yeah, when she made the comment about hating birds I was confused but the explanation about what they do was really neat.

It took me a second reading to realize the missiles were giving greetings after being launched.

It's interesting how much attention there is to detail, but the author gives certain bits little veneers of cartoonishness to make them fit in the world of the story.

A weaponized hacking tool designed to cause fatal car crashes and make them look like accidents misses the point when the delivery system is a giant missile that sticks to the victim's vehicle. Even if it detaches or self-destructs, the giant dent left by the clamp is a pretty dead giveaway.

But the underlying idea of electronically hijacking a computerized vehicle is a very real concept. In the world of Animal Crossing-esque humans and anthropomorphic animals embroiled in international espionage and mortal danger, it's rather fitting that such a weapon would be wrapped up in a cute, cartoon fish face that says 'Hello' before trying to kill you.

Also: Holy shit. I thought Alice was just playing into that old character trope of disliking birds, but it turns out she's actually a huge racist. That took me for a loop.

Also also: I had to look up the definition of twock to make sure I was reading it right.

Same here. The text size for this chapter really didn't help either. A lot of it, especially the dual-language bits, were just too small to clearly read a lot of the time.
