So that's how she became like this. It seems she suffers from a horrible trauma. This just became too depressing to read. Hopefully the series will end with her overcoming her trauma or something? I mean it's probably the most logical ending barring bad ends of course.

Too many awkward smile

Job interviews are hell, especially for people starting out. They are easy if you feel like you have choices and don't need to be perfect... But recent grads have a "this is your future" thing piled on them.

Honestly I'm not surprised, I've done a couple interviews for Japanese companies and they were almost all terrible. Like they think you should be eternally grateful if they offer you a two bit job for the same pay as McDonald's. And you better dress better than your interviewer!

I guess this is why, despite a humanities degree, I ended up getting a 2 year tech degree and working as a factory mechanic? This is a great reminder of why I hate white collar work.

Whether or not it's her nickname, "ニー子" would not be romanized as "Neeko." I don't think I need to explain to you why. ニ　is always "ni," phonetically and in all of the accepted transliteration systems. Anyone with any familiarity with reading Japanese names would read "Neeko" as the same sound as "ネー子", onee-san, etc.

It's not an accusation, it's a statement of fact.
