Not sure why everyone is hating on this. There's room for lots of stories in queer media and allowing for ridiculous situations such as this is a part of it.

Wow, creepy stuff, but some of the best art I've ever seen in manga.

Sheesh, if it is going to try to be smut with a story then the mangaka could at least try to find something that is gripping. I would have preferred no text.

The in media res works for some pieces but I feel that it kind of falls flat here.

This isn't just a Scottish accent. She's speaking a language closely related to English called Scots. Scots and English are both Germanic languages which some researchers classify as a dialect of English. Don't feel bad if you can't understand it written. Most native-born English speakers can understand most of written Scots, but it is pretty difficult for most to understand it in the spoken form unless immersed in the language.

I've said it before, but I really appreciate how this manga is so supportive of non-traditional genders and sexuality. It's pretty rare to see acceptance and alliance with minimal angst. It's nice how it deals with some of the internal despair over discovering queerness; the whole series feels like a safe space in a good way.

I would love to see more tomboy bottoms.

I was not trying to clutch at pearls, I was just trying to start a discussion regarding the normalization of this behavior in manga. I think every manga fan can agree that there are some problematic behaviors advocated in the art form. This series hasn't had enough translated yet, but I would be pretty disappointed if it is played straight as an acceptable form of romance. I know that there are cultural differences, but I'm pretty sure every prefecture in Japan has an age of consent above 13 now.

As for butchery portrayed in manga, I would have a problem if said butchery was presented in a positive manner. I haven't seen any tacit endorsement of actually striving for the scenarios laid out in horror and guro, but I definitely have in manga depicting relationships between adults and pubescent children.
