Also when you want someone to hear you out and if that someone is older than you then I think it is obvious that you are asking for an advice too along the lines. what I understaood from the chapter is that she was feeling insecure about her stance regarding their current situation after seeing Yuu/Touko acting close enough and wanted to confirm that her take on the matter was right by discussing it with the manager. I think asking for the advice is implicit/implied/ here.

I think the "For Now" here implies that she is planning to some day. =)

Quite funny that I reread this recently… It doesn't exactly reflect Sayaka's situation, but it made me chuckle. :þ

I don't dislike Sayaka, not at all. She's like the person on the sidelines... I mean that guy said he was the audience watching the show/performers which are Touko and Yuu, so think of Sayaka as the stage crew. As Touko said, as long as she keeps her perfection, Sayaka will always be there. Sayaka really knows Touko, but Yuu seems to be more knowledgeable to a certain depth when it comes to Touko's true character. Sayaka is aware, but plays it safe. Yuu is just... Act on instinct of kindness?

To sum it up, I just can't find myself switching to the ToukoxSayaka ship... Yuu is best girl for me. My favorite scene this chap is when Sayaka tried to test Yuu by proposing to call her by her given name, maybe expecting some suspicious reaction and Yuu is like " Sure, I don't care" which was probably a huge fail for her.

It's awkward on purpose. Yuu and Touko's story is about their relationship developing from nothing to something. There's going to be a lot of awkward developments there, especially when Yuu hasn't really given her own sexuality any thought before.

Sayaka and Touko's relationship already started the series out as something. They've already gotten to know each other and interact well with each other. That's established. They're going to seem like the more fluffy pairing because of that.

As someone who holds character development in the highest regard, the idea of Sayaka and Touko actually getting together is just terribly boring. There's very little development to be had there, not to mention that it just wouldn't fit the tone or theme of the series at all.

Such a shame. I like the idea of Sayaka wondering what Touko sees in Yuu and, through that effort, begins to see it herself. I don't think the poly model suits all ships, but I certainly think it could suit this one.

So Touko binds all people around her to "stay by her side" whether she realizes it or not.

Well, I wasn't around yesterday so dpf handled that one. Didn't seem right to countermand their decision. But they're on thin ice regardless at this point.

It's Kiroumaru from Shin Sekai Yori (Into the New World). It's a very good anime. I highly recommend it. Hope you don't mind my answering, since I recognized the character.

I mostly feel like they're narrative dead ends, y'know? We know Touko will end up with Yuu, so the point seems to be a setup for contrived drama later on.

Hopefully, Nakatani resolves this peacefully without any Sayaka/Touko drama.
