If you reaaally want to read too deeply into this it's likely a Class S scenario; Mayu and Riru seem to be at an all girls boarding school. Maybe the girl who hanged herself was part of some doomed love story of her own? Maybe Mayu shares those fears and hoped the ghost would let them both stay like this forever. But ultimately it's a sweet and spooky little tale perfect for Halloween.

If you want something significantly less short but no less spookysweet, Aizawa-san has just passed a major turning point in the story and is getting into the thick of the mystery. The 6th volume releases November 6th and I'll have translations for chapter 36 ready soon. That's a lot of 6s.

a little confused by this one, neither of their reactions at the end make sense to me. I got the sense Riri knew what was going on the whole time and Mayu didn’t, but the ending makes it seem like the opposite? Can’t tell if that’s intentional or I’m reading between the lines too much.
