The snakes hunt by heat. If the warriors managed to escape but then succumbed to their injuries, their fading body heat might not have been enough to draw in the snakes. Other scavengers are going to avoid this area for fear of snakes, leaving the bodies to freeze to the point of becoming inedible. What I'd be concerned about is that the only visible signs of injury are copious amounts of blood and what looks like bandaged snake bites, which reads like a nasty sort of poison to me.

Also, I would have expected the unprotected part of scaled beast would be the underside, y'know considering she made Elsa knock its head up and back

I find it funny when romance, sol etc artists have to draw a battle scene. Really hilights how different of a skill that is.
