Kiwi Houdini.
The G A Y is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Is it just me or does the new fallen magical girls seem to be themed around the seven deadly sins? For example, sister is sloth, magical cream is gluttony. The 6 girls plus Vena add up to 7 too.
I wouldn't count out the idea just yet, but I can't really see what sins the other Rebellin members would represent.
- Kasumi/Rouge is an addict deluxe
- The twins Ao/Sapphire and Beni/Ruby have this codependency-esque, extremely touchy [skinship is fine and all, but I think they're stretching it a wee bit] relationship.
[They also have the 'red oni, blue oni'-trope going on. Though the colours seem to be inversed here, since Ruby is the timid and Sapphire the brash part of the duo. Then again, a ruby is just a red sapphire, which sorta ties into them being twins. I'm curious what they'll look like in colour.]
- Otome/Rose ... uh, wants people to eat their veggies, likes roses and shades? [I have genuinely no clue what her vice might be. I initially assumed she would be haughty/superficial, based on the shades, the way she's posing and her "unnatural/artificial" hair-style, but her behaviour hasn't struck me as such.]
Regardless, I think it's a fun move to get around the issue of adding a bunch of one-note characters, by having these traits be what enabled their corruption [and said corruption potentially turning their vices into their primary character traits.]
Finally, I just wanted to point out, that Utena's 'Wow' isn't translated. She genuinely responds to Kiwi's Japanese in this Times New Roman font. I liked that gag, but it obviously would've been hard to substitue, so I can see why it was just left as is.
