I think it is as simple as not enough people knowing about it. I guess it also isn't exactly the easiest read either, but still I think it mainly due to a lack of anyone knowing that this series even exists. I am going to try posting about it on twitter and tumblr since I have accounts on there but I don't actually have any followers so I doubt it will reach anyone. Better than nothing though!

I'm usually really really lazy and don't get around to supporting manga until later on. But I just bought all the volumes digitally and ordered a set of physical ones as well.

Please support if you can, I love this series very dearly.

I managed to digitally purchase the volumes but can somebody (who can read Japanese) please provide a detailed purchasing guide for those outside of Japan. The kobo.com link did not allow me to purchase the volumes so I had to go through rakuten.co.jp and find the volumes there, but it turns out there are two separate purchasing flows, one of which required a (japanese?) phone number I couldn't get past and another that went through WorldShopping that actually worked. I don't feel qualified to provide this guide because I was basically clicking around blind.

Instead they lean back and complain, that they couldn't sell enough. Hello? There is a whole world of manga fans willing to purchase your product.

Look on the positive side. Switching to digital only will eliminate the printing cost and in turn lower the cancellation threshold for the series. Lots of series got to finish naturally even though their print versions were killed. Granted, this means the publisher has no plans to promote the series, but I doubt Arisaku was getting merchs in the first place. Suck for people who were collecting the physical books though, but it's miles better than a cancellation. Hopefully the author doesn't get too discouraged.

It's just not on the radar for most. This site is full of yuri enthusiasts, but I never see it in the "most popular in the last 7 days" section. It's also very hard to recommend to people without spoiling it.

They don't complain. They just cancel the underperforming work and replace it with something else, since artists eager to get serialized are not in short supply. No skin off the publisher's back. Niche series like this are just rounding errors to Kadokawa anyway.

I bought multiple copies of the physical volumes 1/2, but given the profit model for manga...

I feel like the learned helplessness is partially from justifications for piracy (in the form of fansubs etc) from back in the day. Now that it's actually rather easy to support manga, especially with digital, it's a bit of a dated mindset, especially with manga like this that appeal to older/more employed audiences.

This series was not one I found easily or that I was particularly interested in it's premise, but as I read it I found it to be so beautifully written and in turn easily became one of my favorites in the genre as a whole. It feels like a love letter, to girls who love girls and us who love them and supporting them, but also discussing some issues that predate the genre in a mature way (with absolutely gorgeous art). I hope that with the new sales and vocal love, the author can give this the continuation and writing it deserves, because I can just feel that it might reach the peak of what a yuri manga can be. And also, this animated? Like Akebi-chan? I would kill someone for that!

Bought all 3 copies on digital. Aside from that this chapter was so beautifully written, and so incredibly touching.

I've already bought the online copies, but this is a good reminder to also like the raws! We need to support the manga every way we can. It has to end on Igarashi-sensei's terms, not anyone else's.

This is a really beautiful chapter. I love that Kasumi's slowly opening up to Haruyo. I still think that the inevitable reveal of Kasumi's real trauma will be messy, but I'm sure these two will find a healthy way through it.

In the previous chapter you could feel just how much comfort Haruyo brings to Kasumi, but in this chapter Haruyo shows such sensitivity to Kasumi that it caused me to melt. There are two actions in particular that stood out to me.
The first action is Haruyo bringing up she did read the letter. It is important Kasumi knows her feelings reached Haruyo no matter how embarrassed she is about them.
The second is Haruyo's first course of action is to go into Onee-sama mode (if I read the code switch in the scene correctly) to reassure Kasumi about their promises of the future. An why wouldn't she, she has always been very adept at comforting Kasumi. There's no doubt Karin and their memories together still weigh heavily on Kasumi's mind. But just like dream Haruyo, Haruyo assuages those worries, this time with a promise of now. Taking Kasumi hand in hand to walk together rather than let Kasumi's worries and anxieties cause her to watch Haruyo from behind.
