We know far too little about either of our main characters to start dismissing or judging them yet. It's only chapter 7, there is almost certainly going to be information revealed that will totally recontexualize all the previous chapters. Things could turn wildly toxic or wholesome in the future too, we just don't know. Again, it's only chapter 7 lets wait a bit before really deciding whether we like the characters or not lol~

Damn, Mocchi has her work cut out for her. Amano has what looks to be a working adult in her rotation, and Mashiro also seems to be older, possibly a college student now.

And I don't remember if it's already been confirmed that Amano remembers Mocchi, but based on her narration in the bathtub I think she does remember.

Not sure about bingo, but that person definitely needs to go to jail for a very long time for the good of humanity.

Of course she was one of those characters that groomed a small child. What a fucking creep. Not to mention homegirl is delusional as fuck knows she was just a substitute for her sister and is still wearing that necklace? The fuck is wrong with her... Well we knew something was wrong with her from the very start but yikes.

It seems were getting these types of creeps in a few series lately. We had one in Semi-friend and we also had one in the Dear Flowers That Bloom as well. And now this one will also probably never get anything to happen to them. Bitch needs to be in jail.

Now to wait a few months for the next chapter.

ok I was SO confused at this chapter because for the longest time because I had misinterpreted the flash backs of Yuhi being given the necklace by a faceless girl with black hair as being Mocchi because Mocchi has long black hair in flashbacks and seemed weirdly fixated on the necklace and the fact Yuhi claimed she had forgotten who gave it to her and I thought that was the single most interesting plot point in this and that just actually wasn't a thing at all so I'm. adjusting. I had to go back and read through and the thing I thought was being implied just wasn't really.

I thought that at first too, though I figured out it wasn't a while back. It was somewhat confusing.

so.... what im seeing here is that Yuhi was groomed by her older sisters friend. Hearing that her parents believe she shouldn't go to cram school due to her not being smart enough, i suppose, she offers a hand with tutoring, for Yuhi to be better in school, so that her parents give attention to her too (but most importantly to gain her trust. yikes.) Because Yuhi is still young and learning how life really is, i dont know how to word it, this gives Mashiro an advantage. Over time, Yuhi gets better in school, reaching 10th place in the test apparently. oh my god. i know damn well. Mashiro likes Yuhi's older sister and sees Yuhi in her, since their related. blah blah, then she kisses her, fucking weirdo..... Mashiro tells Yuhi that if she get's good marks, she'll give her an award. Yuhi is conflicted afterwards, unsure if it /was/ love. But she feels happy knowing that someone older than her appreciates her. manipulation much, FUCK YOU MASHIRO

Anyways, Yuhi strolls, eventually seeing Mashiro again (eugh) but she sees her hugging her sister, which she looks like she confessed but than gets dumped (loser) so then. she sees Yuhi, which in all, Yuhi finds out she's just there to be her second partne, a substitute when her sister isnt around (pretty sure)

...A groomer and a total 1000% scumbag that acts cocky....No she is not in love with you...She just was emotional and mentally affected...like a still festering wound (Not fully over the fking groomer but that doesn't mean she loves her...Hopefully not) but apparently Miss groomer here probably is too arrogant to think otherwise or would just see Amano not being over her as still having feeling of 'love'.

I will be very very surprised if the author actually does punished the groomer though...Since sadly the manga (Both yuri type and straight ones) often just ignore the groomer's actions and they never face consequences sadly....At most we get a slap to the face if we are lucky...

It's possible, but they both kept that they were still in contact with each other a secret from Yuhi, because she thought they became estranged after Yoshino rejected Mashiro's confession in high school. Maybe over time Yoshino missed her and being unaware of what was going on, actually did confess years later. Or maybe it is just a lie and this is a manipulation tactic so that Yuhi doesn't think that Mashiro is only coming to her again after getting rejected by Yoshino yet again. In fact, we don't even know if the flashback was the first time that Mashiro confessed to Yoshino in the first place. Seems odd to jump to seducing the little sister if she hadn't already been rejected by Yoshino sometime prior to that.

Yuhi framed continuing to wear the necklace as some kind of revenge against Mashiro. Either because it was never meant for her, since Mashiro wanted to give it to Yoshino, it only has a Y on it because their names happen to start with the same letter. Or because wearing it while doing things she thinks Mashiro wouldn't approve of makes Yuhi feel like she has some control back. Chapter 6 showed that Mashiro was controlling, so maybe Yuhi thought that becoming promiscuous while wearing the necklace was a way to get back at Mashiro trying to control her. Though as Mashiro laughed at it, it clearly was a wasted effort that only hurt Yuhi and anyone that developed any feelings for her that she encountered.

I thought from this chapter Mashiro seems to want things she can't have. I doubt it's from Yoshino alone, but her response to the situation is so fucked up it suggests some kind of trauma, which is not an excuse for her being incredibly shitty. As they say, hurt people hurt people.

Not to mention (after rereading everything) advertising it as just a "teehee! Just a rom com!!" series is crazy work cuz OOOOOOF shit tilts into drama genre hella quick and it ain't even subtle. I REALLY feel for Yuhi rn - just so traumatised and repeatedly treated as lesser and she has ZERO support system in her corner. Absolutely FUCK Mashiro for whatever tf bullshit she's playing at. I just hope Sakurako can actually get through to Yuhi and realise they've both been hurting each other and actually learn to heal from it together after reconciling their past and friendship.

And after rereading - Sakurako's beef with Yuhi is honestly soooo petty... Like does it suck that she got embarrassed af after putting herself out there? Sure. Could Yuhi have been more tactful? Probably! But goddamn to go this far is ruff, especially after getting all this new context. I'm begging for Sakurako to realise that "oh. I've been extremely unfair to you over a slight that i blew out of proportion." Will that happen? Who knows - she's just a teen and teens are dumb, but it would be nice if it did.

From the timeline given, it seems like Yuhi was likely in the middle of being a tool for Mashiro when she initially rejected Sakurako? Or was slightly before that? And just not willing to think of any consequences of her actions until Mashiro was rejected by her sister and she realised she was being used as a placeholder. Either way, I just wanna give Yuhi a hug, cuz this poor girl ain't ever had a person in her corner that she could be fully honest with, and no one to turn to for help ;-;

Reminder though, while what she did is scummy, Mashiro wasn't an adult either. The age gap should be a couple years at most. The real scum is probably Aoi-san, who's fucking a high schooler.

Also, I don't think it was a grooming plan from the start. She saw Yoshino in Yuhi and used this to get brownie points, but she got desperate at some point probably because Yoshino didn't see her that way at all.

I'm not making excuses for her though. Just that some people make bad decisions under emotional stress.

It is incredibly petty yes, but Sakurako has already started to realize that. The last time we saw her she was first trying to get Yuhi to open up about what was causing her such suffering, and then when that failed she was taking time to figure out what it is that she actually wants from Yuhi. Because she originally wanted to punish her a bit as petty revenge, but now she finds herself hating the fact that something is causing Yuhi to feel true and deep pain.
