Checking in to say I still love the series, I usually don't catch up with each chapter as they release, I wait a couple of months then read all the new stuff at once.
I also want to mention that I adore the characters' fashion in this series. There are times I purchase clothes or jewerly that look similar to what they wear, they look really cute/stylish.
Going off-topic here but if anybody just so happens to know some content creators that focus on fashion similar to what the characters wear in this manga, then do let me know.
I feel like I'm just reading this out of habit by now. I loved it at the beginning, but now there are too many characters with same-face syndrome and I can't remember which ones are annoying and why.
I WAS reading it out of habit for the first ~4 years, then when the anime drew near it gave the excuse to re-read it from scratch and I realized I actually super-love Yori and got a huge rush of energy... but now that she's been sidelined for a few months, and this series is going down the path of an ensemble cast like A Kiss and a White Lily for My Dearest Girl, my energy levels have dipped down to going through the motions again.
Also as an aside, that KaoMari special has got to just be the stupidest misunderstanding ever. Like okay, they wrap it up at the end and are all lovey-dovey, but I don't think I'd be satisfied if I were hardcore team KaoMari.
why do every single school roof look the exact same in every yuri.
How many ways are there to do "flat roof, fence (maybe) so people don't fall off, no furniture because people aren't supposed to be there, access hut with door so people who need to can actually get there"?
Plus probably few artists were ever allowed on their own school roof.
Nanoha showed a rather nice roof with plants and benches where elementary kids ate their bentos, which is doubly unlikely because (a) 99% of elementary kids have school lunch and (b) kids usually aren't encouraged on the roof.

I've seen a few schools with their sports facilities on the rooftop in Tokyo. Most of them would just have the classic closed rooftop, but other types exist as well. I wouldn't be surprised is some of them have benches and other facilities for students, especially in big cities, where schools don't have the luxury of having a lot of space.
I decided to reread since it's been a while since I caught up but man this series should have ended after the main two got together. Everything else is gratuitous drama. There's no substance here at all in the writing. Makes my brain feel like mush.

As someone who really likes the side couples and plot still, highly disagree.

Especially since Shiho and Aki were so well received. I'm not sure why it would have ended during all that success. They aren't even side couples. Kind of a dated conversation anyway. Fluff of all kinds is easy to find. It was a good thing this series had more to tell besides that. Must be working considering what chapter is this now? Feels like there's a lot left too.

Yeah side couples probably isn't the best way to describe them, as the series effectively became an ensemble cast of romances, which so far I'm still enjoying a lot.
It's fine at best. Just a very mediocre romance drama, I am genuinely surprised it HAS lasted this long given how generic the whole thing is. it's disappointing it has come this far and never really tried to be more complex than it is. Feels very "don't want to let it end cause it's popular" rather than really continuing for a meaningful reason, which happens a lot tbf so not really a surprise.
Don't take it personally though it's just my opinion. I can understand why people like it, I just crave more interesting stories and developments in relationships and this comes across all very surface level to me. I will still keep reading in the mean time and maybe Eku's next series will move on from high school dramas.

Yeah they've been great. I was iffy about the recent shift but now that's also been really enjoyable lately. Lots of potential there. The last couple chapters have been very interesting. Still want to see more Aki/Shiho though.

The part of the story you wanted the series to end on was the most generic and straightforward portion of the series. You also said the rest is gratuitous drama so with those two points, I'm unsure what your actual complaint is as it's all a bit contradictory. Aki and Shiho's story was also present from the start of the series, so your other comment about "continuing because it's popular," makes little sense. It continued because that was the story from nearly the start. I guess nowadays it's necessary when you don't like something to find ways of disregarding or rationalizing its success but that particular popularity comment doesn't work. The series has also only gotten more character as it's progressed, more unique.

The recent chapters have made me really curious to see where the story and characters go from here, and yeah I'd also definitely appreciate more Aki/Shiho chapters soon!

I'm assuming that'll come now that we're onto their band's potential big break but we'll see. The situation with the dead friend/girlfriend has some meat to it so I'm not in a rush.

Yeah I think them finding a bit more resolution with their deceased loved one will be part of their progression, and experience as they grow older. Which I think that layers nicely with them getting a big break since that will likely be part of them moving forward.

Hmm are you sure you're reading the series properly? I've seen some nuance from the drama is that is happening once you've read between the lines so I don't think "generic" is the correct word. To add, this series still has unfinished business going that it won't make sense if it should end where you think it must end, so I don't agree with your "don't want to let it end cause it's popular" line either.
Other than that, although I have to admit that waiting for a new chapter on a monthly basis can be a bit draining at times, I'm excited because this series still has a lot more to offer despite some setbacks that happened in the previous years. I am hyped for AkiShiho and Laureley's development ngl.
Off-topic, I wonder why Chapter 64 is not available here? I'd like to see spoilered-text discussions about that chapter here.
Aahhh this is so intense...
I really like the characters of Hajime and Momoka. To be honest, I was already very moved by Shiho's story, to the point of identifying with her regarding loss. But with Hajime it's three times as intense. I couldn't help but see myself in her with every word I read, and my eyes did get teary, haha...
This comment doesn't really make much sense, I just wanted to say that I love this series so much and I have no other word for this episode other than intense. One of my favorites from now on ;)
edit: just wanted to mention i loved when hajime says "if i accept it, then i really will never see her again." it reminded me a lot of myself.

Wow, ch64 was a very intense and painful one! I'm looking forward to see where this leads.
I like the entire run of the series. I don't think that focusing on other characters, developing them and giving them a backstory is a "mediocre drama". It gives fresh, new air to the series. Of course, I want to see more of Himari and Yori!
Even with the occasional darker moment, this was still such a lovely time, only to end like that... But I'm sure they too can overcome this trouble, just like everyone else in this series.

Aki and Shiho were quite divisive when that arc was first introduced. Shiho and the story's treatment of her in particular ruffled a lot of reader's feathers, as they saw her as being genuinely manipulative during that initial arc, and then the story just handed her the W with seemingly no consequences. I know that one got a number of people to stop reading then and there.

You mean divisive on forums? Then, yes I'd agreed. I was involved in many of those discussions here but that doesn't really indicate a broader issue. The reception to them has always been good elsewhere from what I've seen and Japanese comments tended to favor them very much from my experience. I don't think it's a coincidence the series focused on them for as long as it did and had as much success with them as it did.
Of course now their popularity is pretty undeniable but that was there from pretty early on, I'd argue. Some definitely were upset at the shift from fluff to a more dramatic storytelling style and a shift away from our first couple but many readers love dramatic style, while enjoying relationships with struggle, and catharsis. I'd argue many more enjoy the latter, which is partly why the Shiho/Aki stuff worked. We were meant to dislike Shiho at first.
I also don't feel like the author knew what to do with Yori and Himari anymore anyway. The Aki/Shiho storyline helped give at least Himari a lot to do and an arc to progress within. Even now I still don't feel like she knows what to do with Himari and Yori for long stretches. They were mostly fluffy and didn't have major arcs beyond that. Now Himari is developed quite a bit but in connection to Shiho and the band. Yori has kind of got the shit end though. To me it felt like the Takeshima really wanted to write drama and dynamic relationships and took off once she got the chance.

When's the last time we even saw Yori
Let alone focused on her and Himari

I've noticed some people are complaining about a lack of Yorihima lately, especially given the fact that Himari just met Yori's parents a few chapters prior and that meeting is a huge one given on what we've got lately.
When's the last time we even saw Yori
Let alone focused on her and Himari
In the meantime, Yori is currently stuck in "thinking for her future" phase that may take months or years given WYALS updates monthly while Himari will face a bigger obstacle compared to how she handled AkiShiho. I guess Yori and Hima may, or may not, have a talk on what's going to happen in the next few chapters.
I've been enjoying the drama so far as I'm waiting in anticipation on how Hajime and Momoka will move forward in life after Kyou's death. I'd love to see how Takeshima will handle their arc.
