I only have more questions now...
Wait, why did her name change and how does Sae already know that it did?
Also, why would a goddess of love allow cupids to be assholes like this?

The only requirement is to die yearning for love, even if you're the most rotten bastard when alive. There's no filter for bad actors.

Of love yes, not of justice or morality or anything by that sense.

People who die and become cupids lose their last name and become known only by their first. Sae mocked Ena by calling her her last name Hasumi before correcting herself.

There might be punishment though, if the broken cupid we've seen is Sae.

Do...do cupids kill other people to make more cupids? Now I'm wondering if Koharu's accident was more than that.

Kanna was masquerading as Koharu's classmate in her flashback, though I'm sure in her case her aim was to make her fall in love and Koharu's death was a genuine accident she was powerless to prevent. Here though, it certainly looks like Sae caused Ena's death on purpose.

Good point. I remember noticing that girl on the right looked like Kanna. I want to believe she had good intentions!

Considering that what cupids get from couples is called Karma, that seems possible, like from a tainted source or misuse that backfired.

Oh wait, I just realize this.
So, this is a chapter about how these two girls become angels.

Sae was already a cupid, Ena is the one who died and turned.

Wait, I have a theory: maybe the reason Ena is stuck in a time loop is because she was dug out “prematurely” either that or all cupids get stuck in a time loop if they fail to match their friend. I kinda get that vibe because her timeloop starts the after the landslide (her death), while Koharu’s mission with her friend happens 5 years after her death (once her friend fell out of love with her). Like we can see that Kitano falls out of love with the guy in the middle of the timeloop while he falls in love near the end of the timeloop.

Is this on hiatus? Or is the scanlation on pause, maybe?

Anyway, I came across this cool edit and thought I'd share in case anyone's interested:

Oh wow so the love bullets absolutely can do more than just give a cupid envy.
What happened with Sae's wings? Is she being stripped of her powers by the goddess? Is it her own pathetic projection keeping Ena trapped? Can Koharu just fucking dome Sae with like a .50 cal round and be done with this curse?
So many questions. This chapter was worth the wait!

The loss of one's wings signifies an angel's (Cupid) loss of innocence or hope, not demotion to mottality or becoming stripped of their angelic status. It seems Sae's problem with Ena is very personal.

It's interesting how Sae's backstory is actually only the third we've received so far, if I recall correctly. We obviously get Koharu's, of course, and then we get Ena's, which intentionally has a lot of parallels to Koharu's but in a more straightforward tragic sense, her being a person who didn't have much love in her life compared to Koharu missing her chance for love due to her not noticing.
Sae's glimpse of her backstory seems to break the pattern once more; it seems as though she was killed due to what I read as a bullying victim snapping and cutting her throat in the bathroom, which is triggered some sort of PTSD when Ena starts viciously fighting her.
Obviously this is a job of sorts for the cupids, so a disconnect will be inevitable in some degree, but Sae being so uncaring of the actual humans she's pairing up that she let someone die just so she didn't have to put her in her calculations.... crazy. I wonder how the story will weigh the moralities of the characters. Does Sae deserve hell?
